Mr. Barry Holsey, age 83 of Crockett, passed away Thursday, July 17, 2008 at his residence. Mr. Holsey was born June 27, 1925 in Rice, Texas and had lived in Crockett for many years. Mr. Holsey was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served as Paratrooper in the 101st Airborne Division and also served on the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission during World War II. Mr. Holsey was a member of the National Cutting Horse Association and the American Quarter Horse Association. Mr. Holsey was owner and operator of Crockett Sand and Gravel and Houston County Ready Mix.
Survivors include his wife Linda Holsey, of Crockett; children Tina Clarke and husband Jerry, of Lufkin; Todd Nettles and wife Barbara, of Ark., Lee Holsey, of Lovelady; grandchildren Ondey Clarke, of Lufkin, Heath Starnes, of College Station, Hannah Holsey, Holly Holsey, Lee Holsey, Jr., all of Lovelady, Scott Walker, of Fort Worth, Randy Walker, of Calif.; great-grandchildren Andrew Starnes, Isaac Starnes, both of College Station; son-in-law Eddie Walker and wife Diane, of Fort Worth; sister-in-law Willie Bea Holsey, of Corsicana; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Preceded in death by his parents Lee Lucas Holsey, Sr. and Mary Belle Barrington Holsey; daughter-in-law Michelle Lynn Holsey; and brother Lee Lucas Holsey, Jr.
Funeral Services for Mr. Barry Holsey were held Sunday, July 20, at 3:00 p.m. in the Harvest Church with the Rev. Denis Ivey and the Rev. Scott Matthews officiating.  Military Graveside Services followed in the Holsey Family Cemetery.

Mr. Billy Luedke, age 50 of Crockett, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2008 in Limestone County, Texas. Mr. Luedke was born October 25, 1957 in Lafayette, Louisiana and had been living in Crockett. Mr. Luedke had worked for an offshore company.
Survivors include his son Cody Montana Luedke, of Abbeville, La.; parents Bill and Nolia Luedke, of Crockett; sister Valyre Gates and husband Louise, of Crockett; nieces and nephews Clint Riley and wife Ashley, of Coppell, Amanda Oglesby and husband Jonathon, of Arlington, Jason Gates of Shreveport, La., Jordan Gates, of Lufkin and Blake Gates, of Crockett; great-nephew Mason Riley, of Coppell.
Preceded in death by his grandparents Hazard and Beulah Broussard.
Funeral Services for Mr. Billy Luedke will be held Tuesday, July 22, at 11:00 a.m. in the Grace Lutheran Church in Crockett with Pastor Larry Knobloch officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Grace Lutheran Church 925 W Loop 304, Crockett, TX 75835.

Mrs. Eunice Graham, age 90 of Weldon, passed away Thursday, July 17, 2008 in the Houston County Nursing Home. Mrs. Graham was born March 24, 1918 in Houston County, Texas and was a graduate of Weldon School. Mrs. Graham was a resident of Weldon most of her lifetime and a member of the Weldon Civic Club. Mrs. Graham was also a member of the Antioch Baptist Church in Lovelady and was retired having worked as a sales clerk.
Survivors include her sons 
John S. Jackson and Virginia Goodrum, Mart Graham and wife Debbie, of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren Cindy Busker, Chip Busker, Jimmy Busker, Mary Lynn Busker, Mart Graham, Jr., Andy Wiley, Stephen Graham, Jack Jackson and Katelynn Graham; great-grandchildren Cory Busker, Katie Busker, Brenn Busker, Ruby and Kal Busker; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Preceded in death by her parents Thomas Jefferson and Nora Bell Reeves; daughter Jane Busker; grandson Joseph Jackson; sisters and brothers, Volean Pearson, Joe Reeves, Mozelle Etheredge, Johnnie Adams, Joyce Pait, Jeffie Bazar and Mary Bell West.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Eunice Graham will be held Monday, July 21, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the Antioch Baptist Church in Lovelady. Interment will follow in the Lovelady Antioch Cemetery.

Mr. Harold Lloyd Roby, age 77 of Lovelady, passed away Friday, July 11, 2008. Mr. Roby was born March 27, 1931 in Degraff, Ohio to Carl and Carrie Strong Roby. Mr. Roby lived in the Woodville area before moving to Lovelady several years ago. Mr. Roby was retired from the United States Army. Mr. Roby was a member of Westside Church of Christ in Jasper.
Survivors include his loving children Patricia Haynes, of Lovelady, Harold Eugene Roby, of Woodville, Kenneth Roby, of Silsbee, Sandra McEwin, of Lovelady, Juanita Wrinkle, of Abilene, Leslie Roby, of Warren, Scott Roby, of Silsbee and Russell Roby, of Woodville; brothers, Paul Roby and Walter Roby, both of Michigan and Orville Roby, of Ohio; sisters Viola Smith and Phyllis, both of Mich. and Virginia Ferguson of Ohio; 21 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents Carl and Carrie Strong Roby; wife Billie Roby; and a great-granddaughter.
Funeral Services for Mr. Harold Lloyd Roby were held Tuesday, July 15, at 10:30 a.m. at Westside Church of Christ in Jasper with the Rev. La Vel Tukes officiating. 
A Military Graveside Service was held with the U.S. Army at the Town Bluff Cemetery.
The Military served as pallbearers for Mr. Roby.

Mr. John Edward Barnette, age 66 of Lovelady, passed away Monday, July 14, 2008 at his residence. Mr. Barnette was born April 8, 1942 to John Henry Barnette and Fannie Mae McCullin Barnette in Rayville, Louisiana. Mr. Barnette was retired having worked for the oil field industry.
Survivors include his wife Darlene Gibson; five children Joseph and Lori Gibson, Theresa and Gary Whitney, Cheryl and Antonio Casas, Carol and Armando Ortiz, and Jackie and Juan Perez, all of Crockett; grandchildren David, Michael, Eric and Kayla, Christopher and Bianca Mendez, Denise Gibson, Artenio Gibson, Rebeca Casas, Vanessa Casas, Nikki Gomez and Evaristo Gomez, Debra Gibson, Emerald Calazada, Robert Morgan, Amber Morgan, Tristan Morgan, Katrina Whitney, Gary and Theresa Whitney, Jr., Joshua and Cassie Whitney and Angelica and Martin Ramirez; great-grandchildren Veronica, Breyana and Will Berrios, David Calzada, Alex Zambrano and Analyassa Ramirez; sisters Elizabeth Moore, of West Monroe, La., JoAnn and Robert Wilson of Jayess, Miss., Telida and Henry Rutledge, of Jonesville, La.; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Preceded in death by his parents; and one brother Lucky.
Graveside Funeral Services for Mr. John Edward Barnette were held Saturday, July 19, in the Lovelady Antioch Cemetery with the Rev. Terry Gibson officiating.

Mr. William Clifford Harkins, age 91 of Crockett, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2008 in the East Texas Medical Center-Tyler. Mr. Harkins was born May 11, 1917 in Houston County, Texas and was a lifetime resident of Crockett. Mr. Harkins was retired having owned and operated Jan’s Grocery for 23 years and worked for Edmiston Brothers. Mr. Harkins was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Crockett.
Survivors include his son William Edd Harkins and wife Janis, of Crockett; daughter Jan Elizabeth Clark and husband Jim, of Roswell, N M; grandchildren Armanda Nalls and husband Ronnie, of Plano, William David Harkins and wife Nelda, of Ben Wheeler, Sarah Elizabeth Brock and Mike Pyle, of Pennington,  Jaye Elizabeth Clark, of Roswell, N M; great-grand-children         William Blake Nalls, Jennifer Michelle Nalls, Samantha Nicole Catoe and husband Tim, William Eric Harkins, Molly Ann Harkins, Tiffany Diane Brister, Candace Marie Haga and husband Brad,  Randall Lynn Brock; eight great-great-grand-children; special friend Loyce Ferraro of Crockett; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Preceded in death by his wife Ann Moore Harkins; parents William Joseph and Sally Harkins; one brother; and three sisters.
Funeral Services for Mr. William Clifford Harkins were held Friday, July 18, at 2:00 p. m. in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with the Rev. David Harkins officiating.  Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Park.

Mrs. Willie Mae Atkinson, age 84 of Liberty, passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at her home. Mrs. Atkinson was born on July 26, 1923 in Leon County, Texas to Dewitt Smith and Lela Bell Patrick. Mrs. Atkinson graduated from the Kennard High School and married Woodrow Wilson Atkinson in Houston County, TX on October 14, 1938.
They moved to the Liberty area and opened a shoe repair shop. They were the best cobblers in the county. Mrs. Atkinson was a member of the Church of Christ, the Rebecca Lodge, and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Liberty Volunteer Fire Dept. Mrs. Atkinson enjoyed sewing, reading, and quilting.
Survivors include her two daughters Bobbie Jean Wages and husband William, of Liberty and Mary Hellen Atkinson, of Katy; three sisters Aline Morrow, of Kan., Vera Reeves, of TX. and Maude Jones, of Pasadena; one brother James Smith, of Bryan; three grandchildren Jeannette Potts, Francis Frybert, and Crystal Lofsteadt; eight great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends.
Preceded in death by her parents Dewitt Smith and Lela Bell Patrick; husband Woodrow Wilson Atkinson; son W. W. Atkinson, Jr.; daughter Lela Kathleen Atkinson; grandson Douglas Potts; and son-in-law Harvey Garness.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Willie Mae Atkinson were held Saturday, July 12, at 10:00 a.m. at the Allison Funeral Service Chapel, 1101 North Travis Street, Liberty, TX, with the Reverend Allen Cherry officiating. Interment followed in the Corinth Cemetery in Kennard with the Reverend Jim Ainsworth officiating.
