Mary Katherine Wright
LIVINGSTON -- Mary Katherine Wright, 61, of Livingston died on Sunday, April 6, 2008, in Lufkin. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 10, in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Bob White officiating. Burial will follow in Peebles Cemetery. She is preceded in death by her father, Mahlon Wright and mother, Roberta Hammond Wright. She is survived by her son, Steven Crowsey of Grand Prairie; daughter and son-in-law, Theresa Lynn and Rick Owens of Porter; daughter, Tammy Michelle Long of Livingston; grandchildren, Gary, Courtney, Seth, Roper and Micah; sisters, Brenda Long of Richmond and Dawn Moreno of New Braunsfels; best friend and sister, Billie Sue Hill; nephew, Sherman Brinkley and niece, Wendy Brown. She is also survived by her extended Wal-Mart family and her nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers will be Rick Owens, Jewell Ellison, Dwayne Harrison, Gary Harling and Sherman Brinkley. Donna Lee Dowdy
Donna Lee Dowdy 56, of Fairbanks, Alaska passed away March 27, 2008 at her home. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. April 10 at the Magnolia Cemetery in Onalaska, Texas with Rev. Sam Steele officiating. Cochran Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Donna worked on the Alaska pipeline for the past 3 years, she also worked at the Andrews Airforce Base in Alaska. She was involved with the ALEUT corp., and the Bureau of Indian Affairs in Fairbanks, Alaska. Donna’s favorite hobbies were camping and fishing. She is survived by her daughters Connie Letney Borel, and Cammie Coleet Letney, son in law Matthew Paul Borel, grandchildren Christina Renea Schmidt, Cassidy Lauren Clark, Sabrina LeeAnn Borel, William Cayden Madison, and Corbin Lane Borel, former husband Stacey Eugene Dowdy, sister and brother in laws Beverly and Mike Morris, Terry and David Mullen, and sister Candace Berry, brother and sister in law Harvey and Fritz Wright, Mike and Michelle Wright, and brother William Stanford Wright. Jewel “Nanny” Nunley
LIVINGSTON – Graveside services for Jewel “Nanny” Nunley, 73, were held Monday, March 31, 2008, in Rosewood Cemetery in Humble, with Pastor Berry Duke officiating. Mrs. Nunley died Saturday, March 29, in Memorial Medical Center – Livingston. She was born Dec. 31, 1934 in England, Ark., the daughter of Till and Elsie Ward Bedwell. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William J. Nunley; sons, Kenny Nunley, Rickey Nunley and William Nunley and sisters, Gracie Bedwell and Glydas Walley. Survivors include her daughters, Jennifer Smith of Splendora, Lorane Cones of Livingston and Barbara Mullins of Livingston; son, Gary Nunley of Buffalo; brothers, Willie Bedwell of Onalaska and Earl Bedwell of Kansas City, Kan.; 18 grandchildren and 30 greatgrandchildren. Thelma Mae Gilliland
LIVINGSTON -- Thelma Mae Gilliland, 92, of Livingston died on April 10, 2008 surrounded by her family. Visitation is Sunday at 5 p.m. Services will be held Monday, April 14, 2008 at Livingston Church of Christ with Brother Lindell Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. Thelma was born April 11, 1915 in Livingston, Texas to Roy Ross Morris and Elizabeth Sprayberry Morris. Thelma was proceeded in death by her parents, Roy and Elizabeth Morris, her hubands Hoy Watts and Emmitt Gilliland, brothers Rufes Morris and Leroy Morris, sisters Loda Schuerr and Edna Earle Morris and son E.O. Gilliland, Jr. Survivors include her daughters, Thelma Jo Kracht, Ann Kinser, and Tyba Wiegreffe, her sisters, Lounell Dillon and Myra Gibson, her grandhildren William Kracht, Donald Kracht, Dennis Kracht, Paul Rotko, Lorelein Duncan, Rebecca Brown, Melinda Melton, Bo Wiegreffe and Ronnie Wiegreffe, 14 greatgrandchildren, and 4 greatgreat- grandchildren. Pallbearers will be William Kracht, Donald Kracht, Dennis Kracht, Paul Rotko, Bo Wiegreffe and Ronnie Wiegreffe. Henrietta Murphy
LIVINGSTON -- A Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday, April 16, 2008, for Henrietta Murphy, 73, with Father Clifton Labbe officiating. Burial followed in Gardens Of Memories Memorial Park in Lufkin. Mrs. Murphy was born Nov. 5, 1934 in Bluett to Guadalupe and Soledad Trevino Rodriquez, both of whom preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Donald; her son, Donald Jr. and wife Ada of Pasadena; her daughter, Yvette Karen Byrum and husband Jackie of Livingston; her sisters, Consuelo Luna of Uvalde, Mary Fernandez of San Antonio, Alicia Gonzales and husband Ted of San Antonio, Ana Cervantes and husband Roberto of Uvalde, Suzanna Garza and husband Robert of San Antonio and Hortencia Pena and husband Frank of Uvalde; her one brother, Ernesto Rodriquez and wife Refugia of Corpus Christi; her grandchildren, Annette Karen Byrum, Yaimy Calderon, Luis Espinosa, Kevyn Espinosa and Ambar Espinosa; her one great grandchild, Rangel Scott Calderon and her numerous nieces, nephews and a host of special friends. Ava Marie White
LIVINGSTON – A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 19, 2008, at Pace Funeral Home for Ava Marie White, 97, of Livingston. Graveside services and burial will be at Little Cemetery in Seminole, Okla. at 2 p.m. April 26.Mrs. White died on Monday, April 14, 2008 in Memorial Medical Center – Livingston. Mrs. White was born Sept. 3, 1910 in Shawnee, Okla. Preceding her in death are her father and mother, John Aaron and Anna Florence Moore Parsons; her husband of 54 years, David Onan White; brothers, Willie Parsons and Ralph Parsons and sisters, Laura Carter, Pearl Rainey, Beulah Birkicht and Inez Parsons. Survivors include her two daughters, Kathy Dale and husband Bob and Ava Ann Barton of Livingston; five grandchildren, David Dale of Gray, La., Wesley Dale and wife Nancy of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Elizabeth Vorpe of Houston, Lance and Linda Barton of Aubrey and Cris and Gwen Barton of Fort Worth and great-grandchildren, Amanda Vorpe, Lauren Dale, Alice Barton, Bobby Barton and Leslie Nixon.

Louise Harper
LIVINGSTON -- Louise Harper, 95, died on Saturday, April 12, 2008, in Pine Ridge Nursing Home. Graveside services were held Sunday, April 13, in Alexander Cemetery in Leggett, with the Rev. Frank Hood officiating. Although Mrs. Harper struggled with extreme Alzheimer’s, she always seemed to remember her favorite church hymns and her faith. Mrs. Harper is preceded in death by her parents, James and Laura Alexander; husband, Henry Harper; brothers, Miller Alexander, Woodrow Alexander and Moon Alexander and sister, Ottis Cook. She is survived by her nieces, Cynthia Moye of Livingston, Martha Simpson of Silsbee and Susan Bourke of Colorado; nephews, Tom Alexander, the Rev. Jeffery Alexander and David Alexander, all of Colorado and her sisters-in-law, Christine Alexander and Donna Thorpe. Cochran Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Eunice Gore Rodgers
LIVINGSTON – Graveside services for Eunice Gore Rodgers, 91, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 18, 2008, at Forest Hill Cemetery, with Father Clifton Labbe officiating. Mrs. Rodgers died Tuesday, April 15, in Conroe Regional Medical Center, Conroe. She was born Dec. 21, 1916 in New Waverly, the daughter of Joseph C. and Ella Hardy Neiderhofer. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth W. and Judy Gore of Livingston; grandchildren, K. Craig and Tricia Gore and Shelly D. Gore and fiancé Kenny Edwards, all of Austin; great-grandchildren, Matthew Hartnett, William Gore and Jessica Gore, all of Austin; sister, Faye King of LaMarque; brothers, J.C. Neiderhofer of LaMarque and Pete Neiderhofer; niece, Kaye LaFour of Livingston and many other nieces and nephews. Cochran Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Julius Edmond Dominy
LIVINGSTON -- Julius Edmond Dominy, 81, of Livingston died on April 12, 2008. He was born Nov. 3, 1926 in Goodrich to Julius Dominy and Melvinia Armitage Dominy. Mr. Dominy was a member of Leggett Baptist Church and served as a church deacon for 50 years. He is predeceased by his wife of 60 years Zeffa Dominy. He is survived by Billie Dominy Street and husband Douglas, daughter and son-in-law. of Pearland; Michael Dominy and Angela, son and daughter-in-law of Livingston; grandchildren, Molly Street, Jake Dominy and Crissy Dominy; brother, Leon Ray Dominy of Siloam Springs; sisters, Mary Ruth DeLaney of Livingston and Annette Lowe of Livingston; brother, Tommy Dominy of Livingston and special friends, Foy Buller, Ida Nettles, Frankie Hopson and Doris Stockton. Services were held Tuesday, April 15, at Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, with Bro. Frank Hood and Bro. Lynn Dyke officiating. Burial followed in Peebles Cemetery. William E. Bates
CLEVELAND -- William E. “Bill” Bates, 70, of Cleveland, died on Tuesday, April 8, 2008. He was born in Grand Saline on May 10, 1937 to William and Rosa Mae McCormack Bates. He is preceded in death by wife, Helen Bates and son, Virgil Passmore. Survivors include his daughter, Mary Jane Parker and husband Ray; sons, Patrick Bates and wife Dianna and Michael Passmore; grandchildren, Robert and Polly Anna Minks, Holly and Sammy Zimmer and Timothy Adams and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family members and friends. Graveside services were held Saturday, April 12, at Pace-Stancil Memorial Rest Gardens Cemetery, Cleveland.

Erma Sue Brown Oldner
LIVINGSTON -- Erma Sue Brown “Party Sue” Oldner died on Sunday, April 13, 2008. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 17, at Blanchard Baptist Church in Livingston, with the Rev. Royce Pennington and the Rev. Fred Alford officiating. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. in Rosewood Cemetery in Humble. She was born to Frank and Doshie Brown of Kirbyville. Sue was born next to the youngest of 10 siblings, being the youngest of five sisters in Gilmer. She graduated high school in Kirbyville in 1957 and married Charles Hansford “Shorty” Oldner on Aug. 21, 1959. They lived in Houston for 36 years before retiring to Lake Livingston permanently in 1995. She and Shorty started and operated D&O Machine Works. For 33 years she kept the books and early on made deliveries. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Doshie and Frank Brown; daughter, Jena Sue, age 29, and her son, Charles Hansford “Chuck.” age 101⁄2; also by her four brothers and two sisters. She devoted her life to her kids and husband who she loved dearly. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Charles Oldner of Livingston; son and daughterin- law, Michael Ray and Nikki Oldner Sr.; daughter and son-inlaw, Barbara Annette and Gus Andrews; grandchildren, Michelle Gibbs and husband Larry, Melissa Oldner, Michael Ray Oldner Jr. and wife Jennifer, Brandon Berry and Charli Jo Andrews; greatgrandchildren, Gavin Gibbs, Mitchell Brenham, Raylea Herring and Melanie Oldner and sisters Vera Winsett, Mavis Oldner and Nina Cline. Funeral services for Kenneth Davis Kearns, age, 84, of Livingston, will be held Friday, April 18, 2008, at 10:00am in the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Isaacs officiating. Interment will follow at 2:30pm at Forest Park East in Webster, Texas. Honorary Pallbearers will be Greg Smith, Mark Koen, Clifford Carlin, Johnny Kilpatrick and Michael Kilpatrick Mr. Kearns passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at his home in Livingston, Texas. He was born June 7, 1923 in Houston, Texas the son of Joseph and Beryl Davis Kearns. He was a member of the Livingston VFW Post #8568 and a member of the American Disabled Veterans and the receipient of the Purple Heart.
