Oscar Jordan “Jack”
Meisetschlaeger
DICKINSON — Oscar Jordan “Jack” Meisetschlaeger, 94, of Livingston died on April 6, 2009. He was born Jan. 19, 1915 in Hallettsville, to parents Frank Meisetschlaeger and Minnie Boehm Meisetschlaeger. He was preceded in death by his wife, Earline Buss Meisetschlaeger, in 1998 and daughter, Delores Mungioli, in 1995. He is survived by his daughters, Glenda Mapes and husband Vernon and Jackie Woodward; son, Rodney Meisetschlaeger and wife Leá; sisters, Ollie Buss and Stella Polzer; brother, George Meisetschlaeger; three grandchildren and one greatgrandchild. In honor of his wishes, private graveside services were held in Dickinson. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society C/O Mannafest, P.O. Box 466, Livingston, Texas 77351. Crowder Funeral Home, Dickinson, was in charge of arrangements.
Delores June Buchanan
LA PORTE — Delores June Buchanan, 70, of La Porte died on Monday, April 6, 2009. She was born Sept. 30, 1938 in Overton, to Mary and Walter Duncan. She was a member of the Livingston SPCA and Republican Women. She is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Duncan and husband, Jack P. Buchanan. She is survived by father, Walter Duncan; daughter, Jodie Estes and husband James; sister, Olida Madry; grandchildren, Kanda Tolley, Teddy R. Tolley Jr. and Timothy J. Tolley and great-grandchildren, Scarlet Graves, Ivana Tolley, Juliet Tolley, Analisa Tolley, Selise Tolley and Timothy Tolley Jr. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 11, at the First Baptist Church of Lomax. In lieu of usual remembrances, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Lomax, 11303 N. H Street, La Porte, TX 77571. Paul U. Lee La Porte Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Myron “Skookie” Holmes Duke III
LIVINGSTON — Myron “Skookie” Holmes Duke III, 79, of Livingston died on Thursday, April 2, 2009. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, April 7, in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Harold Isaacs officiating. Burial followed in Stewart Cemetery in Henderson. He was born Dec. 7, 1929 in Beaumont, to parents Myron Holmes Duke Jr. and Violet Beatrice Duff Duke. He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Timothy Lynn Duke and brother, Paul Malcolm Duke. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Alice Duke of Livingston; daughters, Brenda N. Duff of Beaumont, Cindy Hyde of Springfield, La. and Deborah Woods of Houston; sons, Myron H. Duke IV of Memphis, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. LIVINGSTON — Ernest Lee Nunn Jr., 77, of Point Blank died on Wednesday, April 1, 2009, in Houston. A memorial service was held in his honor on Wednesday, April 8, in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, with Bro. Harold Isaacs officiating. Mr. Nunn was born Sept. 11, 1931 in Saint Louis, Mo., to parents Earnest Lee Nunn Sr. and Juanita Rook Nunn. He proudly served in the US Army/Air Corp from 1948-1952. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Annie Nunn of Point Blank; daughter, Tina Renee Williams and husband Adrian Todd Williams of Houston and grandchildren, Autumn Rose Green, Adrian Todd Williams Jr. and Kirsten Lynn Williams all of Houston.
