ONALASKA — Kevin Mark Love, 45, of Katy died on Monday, April 6, 2009, in Cypress. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, April 13, in the Cochran Funeral Home Onalaska Chapel, with Deacon Ernest Pace officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until noon Monday, also in the Cochran Funeral Home Onalaska Chapel. Kevin was born Oct. 20, 1963 in Tachikawa, Japan. He was a project manager for TMI Enterprises. He also was a United States military veteran, serving in the United States Navy. He is survived by his parents, Barbara and J.R. SCHWAB CITY — An inurnment service for former Baytown resident Emma P. Creel will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 23, 2009 at the Preebles Cemetery in Schwab City. Per Emma’s request, cremation took place and there will be no public visitation. Emma was born Aug. 26, 1929 in Baytown, Texas and departed this life Monday April 6, 2009 at her daughter’s home in Lamar, Colo. at the age of 79. Emma was preceded in death by her father and mother, Roger A. Dickson of Baytown in 1946 and Annie P. Radford-Dickson of Baytown in 1985; by her husband, Floyd D. Creel in 1995; by one sister, Carrie Louise Emerson; and by four half-siblings, Blanche Ellen DuPlantis, Mary Olive Doyle, Beulah Norris and Walter Roger Dickson. Mrs. Creel is survived by three daughters, Colleen (John) Novotny of Edgewood, N.M.; Cathleen (Gene) Thompson of Tecumseh, Okla.; and Christeen (Larry) Bauer of Lamar; by seven grandchildren; and five greatgrandchildren. LIVINGSTON — Judy Donohoe Patrick, 67, died on Wednesday, April 8, 2009. Graveside services were held Saturday, April 11, in Greenwood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Houston Hospice, 1905 Holcombe Blvd., Houston, Texas 77030. Judy was born Dec. 28, 1941 in Port Lavaca. She graduated from Gainesville High School and spent 27 years devoted to the Bedford Police Department. She loved reading, tending to her rose bushes, her coffee, knitting and especially her cats. Her greatest joy in life was being a mom and she was “Momma” to many other people, but especially to Terry Simonton, Elisa Gonzalez and Jeanne and Chris McDonald. She was preceded in death by her parents, Verner and Edna Donohoe and her brother, Charles Donohoe. Survivors include her daughters, Katy Patrick and Vicki Bolton and husband David; son, Michael Patrick; grandsons, David Bolton III, Daniel Bolton and Rocky Bolton; sister, Nancy Edmondson; nieces, Deanne Giese, Marie Mankoff and Lisa Wyckoff and nephews, Vince Donohoe and Michael Donohoe. HOUSTON — Donna Ferguson Kennedy LaGrone, 55, died on April 8, 2009. She was born on Oct. 13, 1953 to Charles Douglas and Winella Zoe Dumas in Beaumont. She attended Livingston High School and went on to pursue a business degree at Sam Houston State. She is survived by her husband, Travis LaGrone; children, Andrew and Lindsay Kennedy and Michelle Ferguson and husband Sam and her three brothers, Doug, Tom and Paul Ferguson. Bryan Dickens officiating. Burial followed in Big Sandy Cemetery. Mrs. Brown was born March 23, 1934 in White Castle, La., to parents Albert T. Manning and Marie Una Hernandez Manning. She married Herbert Ray Brown on Sept. 24, 1971 in Houston. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Onalaska. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and son, John C. Lilley. LIVINGSTON — Pansy M. Shearer, 68, was born in Charleston, S.C. on June 23, 1940 and died on Sunday, April 12, 2009. Mrs. Shearer was known as a devoted mother and wife. She loved to fish. She is survived by her husband, James Shearer; children, Marilyn Loving and husband Eston E., Woody Brewer, Helen Brewer and Lucille O’Day; sister, Merl Mullen; grandsons, Eston David Loving, Dustin Taylor, Michael Medlin and Daniel O’Day; granddaughters, Loretta Winter, Pansy Nicole Webb, Leslie Loving and Charlotte O’Day; great-grandson, Jamin Rodger Loving; greatgranddaughters, Izadora Hope Loving and Valorie Winter, one niece and three nephews. Mr. Prater graduated from Livingston High School and then from Texas A&M with a bachelor of science degree and was employed as a correctional officer for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. LIVINGSTON -- Floris L. Lange, 80, of Trinity died on Monday, April 20, 2009, in Conroe. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 23, in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Livingston, with the Rev. Carl Roth officiating. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. in Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster. He was born Feb. 2, 1929 in Buckholts, to parents William H. Lange and Irene H. Fuchs Lange. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1951 to 1953. He retired after 33 years of service from Union Carbide Chemical Co., where he was a production manager. Mr. Lange is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Iona Laverne Lange; brother, William Ardell Lange and sister, Lina Dakel. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann Lange of Trinity; daughter, Cathy D. Carlson of Pearland and granddaughter, Melissa Irene Carlson of Pearland. William “Zero” Lewis
LUFKIN -- William O. “Zero” Lewis, 88, of Diboll was born on Feb. 28, 1921, the son of the late Amanda (Hegler) and William Hartwell Lewis. He died on Saturday, April 18, 2009, in a local hospital. He served his country in the United States Air Force during World War II and the Korean conflict as a military rancher and retired in 1961 as a captain. He was a charter member of Corrigan VFW and Corrigan Masonic Lodge for 59 years. He wrote a column titled “Comments from Corrigan” in the Corrigan Times from 1968-1999. Survivors include his wife, Marie Lewis of Diboll; sister-in-law, Ruth Tidwell of Burke; brother-inlaw and sister-in-law, Tom B. and Louise McKinney of Burke; nephew, Leon Tidwell of Burke; niece, Suzanne Norris and her husband Dewayne of Tyler and a number of other family members. Services for Mr. Lewis were held Tuesday, April 21, in the Elwyn M. Gipson Memorial Chapel in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park, with Bro. Jerry Chandler officiating. HOUSTON — Stephen “Steve” Lowe, 67, died April 14, 2009, in Houston. He was born Nov. 26, 1941, in Point Pleasant, West Virginia. Steve served in the United States Air Force from1960 to 1964. He then served as a nuclear welder for the Charleston Naval Shipyard. Steve is preceded in death by his grandparents Everett and May Sayre, parents Homer and Maxine Lowe, and his brother Randy Lowe. Steve is survived by the mother of his children Ophelia Lowe Christian, Daughter Stephanie Jessee and son in-law Brent, Daughter Robbin Zettlemoyer and son in-law Todd, step daughter Mary Dusenbury and son in-law Chad. His four wonderful and loving grandchildren Airmen Benjamin Jessee, Christen Jessee, Riley and Zachary Zettlemoyer. Steve has a beautiful granddaughter on the way, Madison Dusenbury. He is also survived by his brother, Robert Lowe and wife Debbie, sister Camille McNeill, and brother Jeff Lowe and wife Pat. LIVINGSTON -- Edith Odessa McCarty, 86, was born April 11, 1923 and died on Saturday, April 18, 2009. Her favorite hobbies were working in her flower and vegetable gardens, fishing and hunting with her husband. She is survived by her sons, Ray McCarty and wife Linda of Livingston and Ronnie McCarty and wife Julie of Decatur; stepson, Pat McCarty and wife Joyce; six grandchildren; six greatgrandchildren and 11 step-grandchildren. HOUSTON -- Karen Brenan Rushing, 49, died on April 16, 2009. She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas A. Brenan. She is survived by her mother, Marlene Norton and stepfather, Jack Norton; sister, Kathy Schoettlin and nieces and nephews. Karen attended Conroe High School and was a graduate of the University of Texas. She was a CPA, life member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and a member of the NCHA, ACHA, and had won several awards in cutting horse competitions. Some of her greatest pleasures in life were riding horses, riding her Harley and her love of animals. A memorial service in celebration of Karen’s life was held Tuesday, April 21, at Cypress-Fairbanks Funeral Home in Houston, with Chaplain Charlie Flanagan officiating. In lieu of the usual remembrances, Karen’s family requests that memorials be made in her memory to the Juvenile Diabetes Association.

Honorary pallbearer was Dewayne Canterberry. She was born May 5, 1918 in Marion, La., the daughter of L.G. and Bell Harrison Canterberry, and died on April 15, 2009 in Cleveland. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Webster Ray Golsby Sr.; one brother; five sisters and one grandchild. She is survived by her sons, Floyd Canterberry of Grayson, La., Webster R. Golsby Jr., of Livingston and Johnnie Lee Golsby Livingston; daughters, Sandra Elaine Landrum of Downsville, La., Shirley Ann Copeland of Houston, Virginia Golsby of Rye and Gloria Jean Cernosek of Pasadena; sisters, Wreather Pilgreen of Broussard, La., Christine Fowler of Marion, La. and Lizzie Reppond of Marion, La.; 15 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. Wade H. Brown
HUMBLE – Wade H. Brown, 78, of Humble died on April 17, 2009. Mr. Brown, who was reared in Polk County, was a member of Bauman Road Baptist Church and was an outreach minister. He is preceded in death by his brother, Marlin Brown. He is survived by his wife, La- Verne Brown; son, Jack Allen Brown and wife Donna; brothers, Louis Brown and wife Dorothy and Jett Brown and wife Shirley; sister-in-law, Estelene Brown; grandchildren, Jake Brown and Ian Brown and great-grandchild, Sayde Brown. Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 21, in the Rosewood Funeral Home Chapel in Humble, with the Rev. Adam Johnson officiating. Interment followed in Rosewood Memorial Park.

CORRIGAN – Graveside services for Ernestine Howell, 87, of Corrigan were held Wednesday, April 22, 2009, in Union Springs Cemetery in Corrigan, with Bro. Ralph Johnston officiating. Mrs. Howell was born Nov. 14, 1921 in Groveton and died on Saturday, April 18, 2009, in the Corrigan LTC Partners Nursing Home in Corrigan. She was a Methodist by faith and a homemaker. She is preceded in death by her husband, Carl Melvin Howell; parents, Joe J. and Harreitt Elizabeth (Kelley) Foster; brother, Hugh Foster and sister, Ruth Davidson.

LIVINGSTON -- Donald Gene Thompson, 71, was born in El Paso on Jan. 30, 1938, and died on Monday, April 20, 2009. He is survived by his wife, Vicki Marie Dutton Thompson; mother, Delphia Counts Thompson; sister, Sharyn W.
