Paul Smith
LIVINGSTON -- Paul Smith died July 31, 2007 at his residence in Livingston. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Effie La.
Mr. Smith was born on Dec. 10, 1952 in Pineville, La. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Jane Rasberry Smith; his brother, Ray Allen Smith and son-in-law, Billy James Franklin, Jr.
Surviving him are his wife of 28 years, Bessie Smith; one son, Donny Ray Smith of Beaumont; two daughters, Paula Loraine Franklin of Olla, La. and Cindy Lynn Smith of Jonesville, La.; one son-in-law, Brandon Wiley; three brothers, Clyde David Smith Jr. of Louisiana, Daniel C. Smith and wife Vickie of Tacoma and J.C. Smith of Henderson; two sisters, Irene Rasberry and husband Raymond of Urania, La. and Betty Lou Fussell and husband Ricky of Greyson, La. and four grandchildren, Cynthia Herrandez, Dalton Franklin, Hanna Franklin and Brandon Wiley Jr.

Randy Eugene Lenamond
LIVINGSTON – Funeral services for Randy Eugene Lenamond, 52, were held Friday, Aug. 3, 2007, in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Emmett Solomon officiating.
Mr. Lenamond died Monday, July 30, in UTMB in Galveston.
He was born May 8, 1955 in Tyler, the son of R.Q. and Louise McIntosh Lenamond. He was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Lenamond of Huntsville; mother, Louise Pickren of Splendora; daughters, Aranda Russell of Colorado City, Colo. and Kassie Wilson of Gatesville; son, Bruce Lenamond of Conroe; stepdaughters, Becky Crawford of Riverside and Sheila Jennings of Conroe; stepson, William Smith of Willis;  brother, Rickie Lenamond of Splendora; sister, Diane Stokes of Livingston; sisters and brothers-in-law, Cheryl and Ronnie McClendon of Conroe, Tina and James Halle of Splendora and Tammy and Shawn Ewing of Gillette, Wy.; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Herschel Emory McLendon
LIVINGSTON – Funeral services for Herschel Emory McLendon, 92, were held Thursday, Aug. 2, 2007, at Central Baptist Church of Livingston, with Joel Salazar officiating.
Mr. McLendon died July 28 in Memorial Medical Center -- Livingston.
He was born Oct. 21, 1914 in Alexander, Ark., the son of Urban B. McLendon and Della F. Corbin. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Clarice; parents, Urban and Della; two brothers, Flynn and Jack and one sister, Urbadell Ratcliff.
Survivors include his children, James R. McLendon and wife Judy, David McLendon, Paul McLendon and wife Jana, Carol McLendon and Susan McLendon and husband Rick of Albuquerque, N.M.; grandchildren, Joni Lambright, Mack McLendon and wife Caryn, Paul David McLendon, Aaron McLendon, Luke McLendon, Andrew McLendon, Brandi and husband Josh Mohler, Allison, Daniel and Victoria McLendon and Ellen Herschel and great-grandchildren, Kasey McLendon, Kelly Jo McLendon and Blake McLendon.
Pallbearers were Mack McLendon, Paul David McLendon, Aaron McLendon, Daniel McLendon, Evan Lambright and Josh Mohler. Honorary pallbearers were Luke McLendon, Andrew McClendon, Joe Pedigo, Ernest Reuter, Otis Bennett and the Livingston Men’s Golf Association.
Cochran Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Emma Rozella Burks
LIVINGSTON – Funeral services for Emma Rozella Burks, 69, were held Sunday, July 29, 2007, in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Mitchell Murphy officiating. Burial followed in Magnolia Hill Cemetery in Segno.
Mrs. Burks died Thursday, July 26, in Pineridge Health Care in Livingston.
She was born Nov. 10, 1937 in Harris County, the daughter of Mikel and Clara O’Elschlagal Murphy. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Luther “Sandy” Burks and Jimmy Davis; her parents; sons, Randy Lee Burks Sr. and Rodney Brown; daughters, Debra Elliott and Robin Fulton and grandson, Randy Lee Burks Jr.
Survivors include her son, Michael Burks of Livingston; daughters and sons-in-law, Paula and James Strickland of Conroe and Terry and James Smith of Huntsville; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Amanda Burks of Shepherd and Jay and Brenda Burks of Livingston; daughter-in-law, Betty Burks of Livingston; son-in-law, Jerry Fulton; grandchildren, Robert Edwards Jr. and wife Melissa, Diana Drye and husband Jason, Pam Newman and husband Randy, John Edwards and wife Jessica, Brett Veith and wife Gina, Matthew Veith and wife April, Richard Springer, Nathan Smith, Sandy Gary, Jimmy Sackett, Angelic Dalton, Brian Burks and wife Kathy, J.J. Burks and wife Courtney, Allen Eaton, Brittny Eaton, Amber Brewer, Nikki Gary, Justin Santos, Josh Copeland, Amy Copeland, Stacy Bridgeman, Tyler Manning, Windom Elliott, B.J. Elliott and Kari Manning; great-grandchildren, Ashley Drye, Randy Newman Jr., Haley Newman, Evan Newman, Tori Veith, Cody Veith, Jennifer Leveque, Robbie Havens, Travis Smith, Destiny Sackett, Micheal Sackett, Brianna Burks, Cheyenne Santos, Chase Bridgeman, Zachery Dalton, Destiny Caldwell, Gabin Elliott, Nicholas Elliott and Carly Elliott and special family, Mr. and Mrs. Marlin Brown.
Pallbearers were Brian Burks, J.J. Burks, Brett Veith, Matthew Veith, Robert Edwards Jr., Randy Newman, Bubba Dale Sackett, Bryan Ramsey and John Edwards. Honorary pallbearers were Mike Schwark, Chris Dorman, Casey Murphy, Joe Lenox, Glen Carpenter and Billy Mitchell.

Doyle Eugene Helms
LIVINGSTON – Funeral services for Doyle Eugene Helms, 73, were held Saturday, Aug. 4, 2007, at Hickory Grove Church, with Pastor Wayne Landrum officiating.
Mr. Helms died Tuesday, July 31, in Memorial Medical Center – Livingston.
He was born July 19, 1934 in Sweetwater, the son of Lanswold and Janie Jones Helms. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Joyce Nell Berg and daughter, Karen Delane Helms.
Survivors include his wife, Hilda Helms of Livingston; daughter, Jennefer Yvonne Allen of Lufkin; brother and sister-in-law, Buddy and Elizabeth Helms of Livingston; sister, Wilma Jean Jones of Aransas Pass; grandchildren, Ivy Janan Helms of Lufkin and Kandra and Ismael Chavez of Diboll and great-grandchildren, Selexy, Amalia, Isaac and Eugene.
Honorary pallbearers were Kevin Vandiveer, Joe Stephens, Mack Coats, Roger Landrum, David Landrum, Ray Campbell and Frank Hartin.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hickory Grove Special Olympics.
Cochran Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Quentin Marshall Purvis
LIVINGSTON – Funeral services for Quentin Marshall Purvis, 69, of Livingston will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, 2007, in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel.
