Lake Milliam Barrett
LIVINGSTON — Lake Milliam Barrett, 86, died on Thursday, Dec. 11, 2008, at his residence in Livingston. He was born Aug. 14, 1922 in Rugby, N.D., the son of Cornelius and Ester Mueller Barrett. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mary Barrett of Livingston; Neal Barrett, brother, of Woffard Heights, Calif.; E.E. “Buck” and Jo Anne Barrett, son and daughter-in-law, of Livingston; Ernie Barrett, son, of Union, Mich.; Karen and Ricky Mizell, granddaughter and husband; Cheryll Prather, granddaughter; Anthony and Lisa Barrett, grandson and wife; Shannon and Keith Foxworth, granddaughter and husband; Billie Jean, granddaughter; Kay and Luke Byerly, granddaughter and husband; Eric Barrett, grandson; Elliott Barrett, grandson; Elizabeth and Jeremiah Howell, granddaughter and husband; Ernie Barrett Jr., grandson, and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bill Barrett and sister, Cecil Erickson. Cochran Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Clifton Andrew Wescott
LIVINGSTON — Funeral services for Clifton Andrew “Bud” Westcott, 94, of Livingston were held Saturday, Dec. 13, 2008, in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, with the Rev. John Page officiating. Interment followed in Peebles Cemetery in Livingston. Pallbearers were Ralph Westcott, Roger Dale Pierce, Joshua Rogers, Joseph Rogers, David Moore and Mark Moore. Mr. Westcott was born July 6, 1914 in Houston, the son of Hampton and Christianna Schriler Westcott, and died on Dec. 9, 2008 in Timberwood Nursing Home in Livingston. He served in Soda Baptist Church for many years as Sunday school superintendent and other areas where needed and could be used. He served faithfully in Providence Church for many years in all service as Sunday school superintendent, Men’s Adult Sunday School teacher, Men’s Brotherhood, training services, leading in Wednesday night prayer services and wherever he might be asked to serve. He was known as someone who served with a humble spirit, always preferring others before himself. He worked at Polk County Motor Co. for many years. He served in the United States armed forces from 1942 until 1946. On Nov. 14, 1953, he married his true love, Etta McBride, and they walked side by side as they served the Lord together. He is survived by Pauline Blum, daughter, of Livingston; Doris and Rodney Rogers, daughter and son-in-law, of Sour Lake; grandchildren, Tommy Rogers, Kirk and Jo Nan Rogers and Chuck and Shelia Blum and numerous great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Etta Westcott.
Funeral services for Marzell Mayo, 82, of Point Blank will be held Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Cochran Funeral Home in Onalaska, with Bro. Jack Bailey officiating and interment to follow in the Center Hill Cemetery in Point Blank. Mrs. Mayo was born July 25, 1926 in Northlet, Ark., the daughter of Jams Clayton Lafitte and Annie Bell Stepp Lafitte, and died Dec. 22, 2008 in Huntsville, She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Bob Lafitte and Don Lafitte. She is survived by her husband John W. Mayo, of Point Blank, David Clayton & Nannette Mayo, son & daughter in law of Point Blank, Sherry Lynn Mayo, daughter of Spring, Texas, Kristen Cella & Fenis Smith, granddaughter and husband, Alek Smith, grandson, Martha McDaniel, sister of Point Blank, Lillwyn Clements, sister of Austin, Texas, Gladys Lafitte, sister, of Point Blank, Dayne Lafitte, sister in law, of Bend, Oregon, Jo Ellen Lafitte, sister in law of Trinity, Texas Jackie & Jerry Gilliam, special friend of Point Blank, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Pallbearers will be Larry Clements, Wesley Fox, Bill Durfee, Fenis Smith, Bob Cella and Nick Smith. Cochran Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Lori Ann Thomas
CLEVELAND — Lori Ann Thomas, 47, died on Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2008, in Livingston. She was born on Feb. 14, 1961 in Santa Rosa, Calif. to Melvin and Hazel Lee Swift Taylor. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Rebekah Kay Thomas and niece, Krystal Bovee. She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Lee Thomas; daughters, Stephenie Thomas of Port Arthur and Shannon Thomas of Goodrich; son, Eric Daniel Thomas of Goodrich; brothers, Billy Taylor of Cleveland, Rodney Taylor of Mayflower, Ark. and Timmy Taylor of Norphlet, Ark.; sister, Debbie Griffith of Junction City, Ark.; grandchildren, Angel, Rebekah and Rachel and many other loving family and friends. Services were held at Neal Funeral Home on Friday, Dec. 12, with the Rev. Howard Daniel officiating. All services were handled by Neal Funeral Home.
