Dennis McNeese
LIVINGSTON -- Graveside services for Dennis Lee McNeese, 54, were held Friday, Feb. 1, 2008, under the direction of Pace Funeral Home.
Mr. McNeese died at his residence in Houston on Jan. 26.
Mr. McNeese was a security guard for Allied Barton. He was born July 29, 1953 in Virginia to Carl and Charlene Delano McNeese, both of whom preceded him in death.
His survivors are his brother, Michael Crim and spouse Juanita; and his sisters, Debra Crim and spouse James Hudson and Patricia Brown and spouse William.
Pallbearers were Michael Crim Sr., William Brown, Jesse Crim, Michael Crim Jr., Larry Brown and Gerrald Hudson. Honorary pallbearer was Robert Vollert.

Janet Boren
LIVINGSTON -- Funeral services for Janet Boren, 95, were held Monday, Feb. 4, 2008, at Pace
Funeral Home, with Jim Sherrill officiating.  Interment followed in Peebles Cemetery. 
Mrs. Boren died in Pine Ridge Health Care Center on Jan. 31, 2008.
Mrs. Boren was born to Clyde and Ethyl Epps Williams on May 17, 1912 in Grand Prairie. They preceded her in death.
Her survivors are her husband, James Boren of Livingston and formerly of Ropesville; her son, Jim Boren and wife Kathleen of Livingston; one sister, Mary Lou Wilson of Avenger and two grandchildren, T.J. Boren and
Bryan Boren of Lubbock.
Pallbearers were T.J. Boren, Bryan Boren and Jim Boren.

Michael Lynn Ratliff
HUNTSVILLE – Funeral services for Michael Lynn Ratliff will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008, at Providence No. 1 Church in Leggett.
Mr. Ratliff died Feb. 1 in Huntsville.
Survivors include his wife, Ivory Ratliff of Huntsville; one daughter, Ranada Williams (Courtney) of Austin; one son, Michael Jr. of Huntsville; one grandson, Courtney Williams Jr.; one granddaughter, Charysh Williams; one sister, La Trell Ryans of Livingston; one brother, Cleveland Ratliff of Ruby; one aunt, Marilyn Wood of Corrigan; in-laws, Corrie and Lessie Bailey of Seven Oaks and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Joe Jones
LIVINGSTON – Funeral services for Joe Jones, 55, were held Sunday, Feb. 3, 2008, at Holly Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. Billy Brackin and the Rev. Frank Hood officiating. Burial followed in Holly Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Jones died Thursday, Jan. 31, in East Texas Medical Center in Tyler.
He was born Aug. 8, 1952 in Baytown, the son of Charles and Doris Gay Jones. He was preceded in death by his father and brother, Thomas Jones.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Erin and Jay Wheeler of Lavon; sons, Matthew Jones of Mesquite and Timothy Jones of Plano; mother, Doris Jones of Segno; grandsons, Jackson Wheeler and Joshua Wheeler, both of Lavon; granddaughter, Kennedy Wheeler of Lavon; sister and brother-in-law, Marsha and Bill Mayhew of Segno and mother of his children, Jane Jones of Garland.
Pallbearers were Austin Jones, Troy Jones, Brett Jones, Billy Mayhew Jr., Tex Proctor, Ricky Jones, Matthew Jones, Timothy Jones and David Eaglin. Honorary pallbearers were Jimmy Burkhard, Cecil Long, Ronnie Bailey, Thomas Bailey, Jerry Glenn Maze, T.H. Bailey, “Rastus” Maze, Harvey Jones, Johnny Wheeler, Larry Sizemore, Charles Norman Duff, Billy Mayhew Sr., J.L. Maze and Nick Mercadante.
Cochran Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Wallace Earl McClung
ONALASKA – Funeral services for Wallace Earl McClung, 57, were held Monday, Feb. 4, 2008, in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Onalaska, with the Rev. Don Kidd officiating. Military honors were provided by VFW Post 8568.
Mr. McClung died Friday, Feb. 1, in the VA Hospital in Houston.
He was born March 5, 1950 in Lafayette, La., the son of Robert and Murine McKee McClung.
Survivors include his wife, Linda McClung of Onalaska; son and daughter-in-law, Kelly and Dennise deGraffenried of Conroe; daughters, Rachele McClung of Livingston and Miranda Akers of Pasadena; brothers, Robert Nerren of Brenham and Jimmy Mack Nerren of Pasadena; sister, Mary Catherine Hughes of Washington, Texas and grandchildren, Zachary Taylor McClung, Satie Akers, Peyton Lee deGraffenried and Jake deGraffenried.

Lora Belle Chatman Welch
LIVINGSTON – Funeral services for Lora Belle Moore Chatman Welch, 73, were held Monday, Feb. 4, 2008, in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Harold Isaacs officiating. Burial followed in Peebles Cemetery.
Mrs. Welch died Friday, Feb. 1, in Spring Branch Medical Center Hospital.
She was born July 22, 1934 in Livingston, the daughter of Jackson and Ira Bond Moore, both of whom preceded her in death.
Survivors include her former husband, Kenneth Chatman of Channelview; sons, Milton Chatman of Baytown and Leonard Chatman of Livingston; grandchildren, Eddie Chatman and Lenny Ray Chatman; one great-grandchild; sister, Claudia and numerous nieces and nephews.

Opal Hubbard

LIVINGSTON – Funeral services for Opal Hubbard, 92, were held Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2008, in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Dennis Cook officiating. Burial followed in Restland Memorial Park, Livingston.
Mrs. Hubbard died Friday, Feb. 1, at her residence in Gladstone, Mo.
She was born April 7, 1915 in Verden County, Okla., the daughter of Charles and Olive Hall Shipman. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Carl Hubbard.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff and Louise Hubbard of Gladstone, Mo. and Barry and Lori Hubbard of Corpus Christi; sister, Ruth Danklefs of Waco; granddaughter, Kathryn Szot of Gladstone, Mo.; grandson, Tyler Hubbard of Corpus Christi; great-great-grandsons, Carson Hubbard and Dawson Szot, both of Gladestone, Mo.; great-great-granddaughter, Madison Szot of Gladstone, Mo. and niece, Loretta Rowe of Portland, Texas.

Willie Marvin Meadows
LIVINGSTON – Funeral services for Willie Marvin Meadows Sr., 79, were held Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2008, in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Harold Isaacs officiating. Burial followed in Jones Prairie Cemetery in Leggett.
Mr. Meadows died Friday, Feb. 1, in Memorial Health System of East Texas in Lufkin.
He was born Sept. 5, 1928 in Ft. Bend County, the son of Wiley and Beatrice Price Meadows. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lillie Bell Meadows and daughter, Donna Sue Turner.
Survivors include his son, Billy Wayne Meadows of Livingston; sons and daughters-in-law, Wiley and Donna Meadows of Leggett and Willie and Carla Meadows Jr. of Livingston; daughter and son-in-law, Shelli and Joe Campbell of Livingston; brothers, W.T. Meadows of Pensacola, Fla. and Waldon Meadows of Leggett; sisters, Dorothy Shockley of Livingston, Corrine Abbott of Leggett, Delores “Lady” McCarty of Leggett, Annetta Bonds of Houston, Dolly Martone of Houston and Daphene Placker of Livingston; caregiver and special family friend, Marie Wyatt of Livingston; grandchildren, Billy Wayne Meadows II, Kolynda Siegle, Denee Prentice, Tammy Mann, Miranda Arnold, Misty Krisch, Jason Meadows, Tim Meadows, Heather Meadows, Tiffany Meadows, Lyle Meadows, Lacy Meadows, Bill Meadows, Lee Cones, Cody Campbell, Casey Campbell, Carla Clifton, Connie Kennedy and Diana Johnson; 21 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
Pallbearers were Billy Wayne Meadows, Wiley Meadows, Willie Meadows Jr., Jason Meadows, Tim Meadows, Lyle Meadows, Cody Campbell and Casey Campbell. Honorary pallbearers were James Parker and Bill Meadows.

Ed Willis Jr.
LIVINGSTON – Funeral services for Ed Wills Jr., 75, of Livingston will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008, at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Kenneth Darden officiating. Burial will follow in Kibbiefield Cemetery in Marston.
Mr. Wills died Feb. 3 in Memorial Medical Center in Lufkin.
He was born Nov. 24, 1932 in Allen, La., the son of the late Ed Wills Sr. and the late Georgiana Gaddison Wills. Mr. Wills was a Baptist.
Survivors include his children, Johnny Ray Foster of Houston, Ora Lee Wills (Rose), Dorothy Robinson (Willie), Alice Walker (Wayne), Evelyn Perkins (Garfield Sr.), Georgia Dunn (Adrian), Arthur Wills (Bertha), Lota Mae Harris (Robert), all of Livingston, Bertha Reggie (Jack) of Lufkin, Marlon Wyatt of Livingston, Verna Briggs of Lufkin, Dwayne Cooper (Lisa) and Anita Black (Mark) of Houston; one sister, Jennie Taylor of Shreveport, La.; brother, Arthur Emmitt of Powhatan, La. and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be members of Travelers Rest Lodge No. 55. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Black, Adrian Dunn, Garfield Perkins Sr., Wayne Walker, Willis Robinson, Robert Harris, Joe King Sr. and George Joyce.

Florence Evelyn Pool
LIVINGSTON – Funeral services for Florence Evelyn Pool, 59, were held Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2008, in the First Assembly of God, with the Rev. Chris Borden officiating. Burial followed in Menard Chapel Cemetery.
Mrs. Pool died Sunday, Feb. 3, in Memorial Medical Center -- Livingston.
She was born June 7, 1948 in Lufkin, the daughter of Ernest and Mary Bass Grimes. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Ernest Ray Grimes.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Susie and Gerald Boone of Livingston; sons and daughters-in-law, Christopher and Sabrina Smith of Livingston and Jason and Tiffany Smith of Livingston; sister, Mary Lee Grimes of Conroe; granddaughters, Sheila Boone and Elise Smith, both of Livingston and grandsons, Cody Smith and Gavin Smith, both of Livingston.
Pallbearers were Gerald Boone, James Boone, Earl Boone, Ervin Jones Jr., Thomas Ritter and Jessie Boone.
Cochran Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Billy Clyde Thompson
LIVINGSTON – Funeral services for Billy Clyde Thompson, 77, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008, at the First Baptist Church of Corrigan, with Bro. Kent Cauthen and Bro. Larry Trest officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Thompson died Monday, Feb. 4, at his residence in Corrigan.
He was born May 10, 1930 in New Edinburg, Ark., the son of Joseph and Effie McFarland Thompson. He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers and one sister.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Thompson of Corrigan; son, Jimmy Thompson of Mt. Pleasant; sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Lisa Thompson of Corrigan and Marty and Suzanne Thompson of Chester; daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Jimmy Cowan of Corrigan; grandchildren, Ashlyn Thompson, Cash Thompson, Jason Cowan and Michelle, Jeremy Cowan and Wendy, Charity Thompson, Tyler Thompson, Taylor Thompson, Gator Thompson and Billy Thompson; great-grandchildren, Riley Dickson Cowan, Haley Cowan, Jenna Scheffield, Sam Syzdek and Brianna Cowan and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers will be Jason Cowan, Jeremy Cowan, Cash Thompson, Tyler Thompson, Ronnie Adair and Kenneth Thompson. Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of Barnum Baptist Church.

Verna Ruth Gilmore
ONALASKA – Funeral services for Verna Ruth Gilmore, 69, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008, in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Onalaska, with the Rev. Raymond Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Magnolia Cemetery, Onalaska.
Mrs. Gilmore died Sunday, Feb. 3, in Conroe Regional Medical Center, Conroe.
She was born Sept. 5, 1938 in Onalaska, the daughter of Virgil and Jessie Cook White, both of whom preceded her in death.
Survivors include her son, John Acrey of Houston; son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Arline Murrell of Onalaska; daughters and sons-in-law, Susie and Jimmy Raines Sr. of Coldspring and Paula and Edward Clark of Waller; stepdaughter, Charlotte White of Houston; stepsons, Skeeter Gilmore of Houston and Floyd Gilmore of Austin; grandchildren, Matilda Acrey, Ramona Castillo, Jackie Gilmore, Randy White, Pete White, Edward Clark, Jimmy Raines Jr., Christopher Acrey, Laura Mellon, Estella Abner and Jessica Gilmore and 16 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Bud Acrey, Robbie Crawford, Jimmy Raines Jr., Christopher Acrey, Ricky Grady, Ruben Barrios, Charles Weatherly and Kenny Weatherly.
