Louise Virginia Hickman
LEGGETT — Louise Virginia Hickman, 85, of Leggett left for heaven on Jan. 14, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Hickman of Leggett; her parents, William Wright and Maggie Bowen of Claxton, Ga. and three brothers and a sister of Savannah, Ga. She is survived by two sons, Gary Hickman and wife Cindy of Brenham and Brian Hickman of Livingston; one daughter, Sharon Hall of Leggett; two grandsons and one granddaughter. Funeral services are pending with Cochran Funeral Home.

Tommie Jackson Gesford
CORRIGAN —Funeral Services for Tommie Jackson Gesford, 66, of Corrigan will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Jan. 16, 2009 in the Damascus Baptist Church in Corrigan with Bro. Curtis Jordan officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 15, 2009 from 5 TO 8 p.m. in the Corrigan Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Wheeler Cemetery. Mr. Gesford was born Dec. 6, 1942 in Camden, Texas and passed away Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009 in his home in Corrigan, Texas. He was a Baptist by faith and a truck driver for Hughes Petroleum. He was preceded in death by his wife, Saundra Prewitt Gesford; parents, Tommie Franklin and Syble Odessie (Norton) Gesford; son, James Wade Gesford; daughter: Gina Doris; granddaughter, Amy Gesford; and sister, Ima Jean Blair. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law: Samuel K. and Mary Gesford of Tennessee; Michael Dewayne and Veronica Gesford of Willis; Tommie Jack and Carrie Gesford of Colmesneil,; Packy Dean and Amanda Gesford of Fairfield; John Darren and Tammie Gesford of Homer, Ga.; and Newley Macade and Kitty Gesford of Fairfield. He is also survived by his daughter, Millie Gesford of Corrigan; brother and sister-inlaw, Arlion and Susan Gesford of Goodrich; sisters and brotherin- law: Syble and Mike McClain of Livingston and Barbara Ann Gesford of Corrigan; sister-in-law and husband, Mary Sue and Leon Wolfe; 21 grandchildren, five great -grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be Todd Mezger, Matt Gesford, Dustin McClain, Wade Gesford, Tommie Jack Gesford and Garin Gesford. Honorary Pallbearers will be Arlion Gesford, Jim Brock, Harold David Byron, Marlon Wayne Hughes, Ricky Liljequist, Matt Hughes, Kendall Hughes, Herman Maqueda, Leon Wolfe, and Tommy Richmond.

Mary Lee Martin
CHESTER — Funeral Services for Mary Lee Martin, 95, of Houston, Texas will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009 in the Palestine Missionary Baptist Church in Chester, with Rev. W.Z. Terry officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 16, 2009 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Corrigan Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Darden Cemetery. Mrs. Martin was born Oct. 10, 1913 in Barnum, Texas and passed away Sunday, Jan. 11, 2009 in Sugar Land, Texas. She was a member of the Palestine Missionary Baptist Church in Chester and had been an employee for Chester ISD. She married her loving husband, Woodson Martin on April 19, 1933 in Livingston and together they raised a wonderful family. She was a member of the Eastern Star for many years as well as the Ancient Love Court #369. She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodson Martin; parents, Brown and Pidie Ann Walter; sons, Clyde, Tom, Woodson Jr., Fred and Billy Ray; daughter, Glenda Ann; brothers, Henry, Earl, and Aubrey; and sister, Ruby Smith. She is survived by her sons, George W. Martin of Lynwood, Calif., Bennie C. Martin Sr. of Chester, Robert T. Martin Sr. of Moreno Valley, Calif.; daughters, Hazel Martin Hannon of Chester, Edith Martin Barnes of Houston, Mary B. Martin of Long Beach, Calif.; brother, Alphonso Walter of Carson, Calif.; sisters, Candres Lewis, Emma Lee Willis and Grace Turner all of Compton, Calif.; 33 grandchildren, 60 greatgrandchildren, 18 great-great grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends, including special niece, Mrs. Jewelene Bean of Chester. Pallbearers will be Kirby L. Barnes Jr., Keith Barnes, Ahmad Daniels, Bennie Martin Jr., Raymond Hannon, Timothy Martin, Keith C. Martin, Anthony Martin, Robert Martin Jr., Bryan Martin, and Cedric Johnson- Martin. Honorary Pallbearers will be George C. Martin, Bennie C. Martin Sr., Robert T. Martin Sr., Alphonso Walter, Kerry Martin, Victor Martin and Tom Martin Jr. Funeral services entrusted to Corrigan Funeral Home.
