PASADENA – Deloris Mosley, 78, of Pasadena died Saturday evening, Nov. 10, 2007, in San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown.
Ms. Mosley was born May 31, 1929 in Dallas. She was an employee of Weingarten Groceries in Houston for 30 years, was a Cub Scout den mother and Girl Scout leader, volunteered with the church ladies group, Prayer Chain Warrior, and volunteered with Hook N Needles in Livingston.
She is survived by her son, Gerald Mosley and his wife Jana of Pasadena; daughter, Anna Hawkins and her husband Raymond of Livingston; sister, Kay White; three grandchildren, Nicholas Mosley, Wesley Hawkins and Amber Mosley and two great-grandchildren, Breeana Hawkins and Rebecca Hawkins.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Jack and Sudie Dudley Wheeler and one sister, Jean Graham.
Services were held Wednesday, Nov. 14, in the Pasadena Funeral Chapel, with interment following in Abbey Mausoleum at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
LIVINGSTON – Funeral services for Nelda Valderez, 59, were held Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2007, in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Craig McCraken officiating. Burial followed in Peebles Cemetery.
Mrs. Valderez died Sunday, Nov. 11, at her residence in Livingston.
She was born April 18, 1948 in Glendale, the daughter of Henry and Cristdal Baker Reeves.
Survivors include her husband, Emanuel Valderez of Livingston; daughter and son-in-law, Karen Valderez and husband Larry of Livingston; daughter, Donna Baker of Livingston; son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Nicole Valderez of Leggett; sisters, Joyce Smith of Jasper and Patricia White of Livingston; brother, David Reeves of Livingston; grandchildren, Amber Laird, Andrew Laird, Kassidy Valderez and Kylie Valderez and great-grandchildren, Hayghan Johnson and Hunter Johnson.
Pallbearers were Bill Kotterman, Melvin Nesmith, Jimmy Hudson, James Leroy Rosier, James Reeves, Shawn Valderez, Jason Valderez and Felix Valderez III.
CORRIGAN – Graveside services for J.C. Smith, 77, of Corrigan were held Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2007, in Wheeler Cemetery in Wakefield, with Bro. Cory Glover officiating.
Mr. Smith was born Aug. 1, 1930 in Corrigan and died Saturday, Nov. 10, in Corrigan.
He was a fireman for Houston County and a Baptist by faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Winona Honeycutt Smith; stepmother, Claudie Mae Smith; brothers, Martin Smith, Billy Ray Smith and Bill Murray and wife Ann and sister, Allene Smith.
Survivors include his sons, Johnny Smith of Corsicana and Ben Smith; brothers, Claude Smith and Edward Smith, both of Pollock; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Joyce and Lester Glaze of Pollock, Ada and Herman White of Etoile, Sherrill and J.C. McClendon of Corrigan and Jo and Burk Hall of North Zulch; sister-in-law, Jackie Smith of Lufkin; aunt, Bonnie Scogin of Onalaska; three grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.
Corrigan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
LIVINGSTON – Funeral services for Nellie Smith, 94, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, 2007, in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Chris Borden officiating.
Mrs. Smith died Tuesday, Nov. 13, in Pineridge Health Care in Livingston.
She was born April 6, 1913 in Galveston, the daughter of George and Agnes Anderson Henry. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, George Myers; daughter, Margie Johnson and husband, Japan Smith.
Survivors include her daughter, Sandra Coward of Livingston; sister, Evelyn Jones of Houston; nephew, Richard Henry of Porter; daughter-in-law, Shirley Myers and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
