   Funeral services for Nelton Odell “Chubby” Hollis, 74, of Groveton, Texas were held Monday April 16, 2007 at 11:00 am at the Groveton Funeral Home Chapel with Bros. Lester McAdams and Neil Kemper officiating.  Interment followed in the Bennett Cemetery.
   Chubby was born on May 3, 1932 to Odell Hollis and Iva Etta Tullos Hollis in the community of Sylvester in Trinity County, Texas.  He passed away April 14, 2007 in Lufkin, Texas.  He was a retired Vocational Agricultural Teacher in Apple Springs ISD and West Hardin and also formerly owned the Groveton Shamrock.  He was a member of the Oaklawn Baptist Church, the Eastern Star Lodge #284 A.F. & F. M., and also was in the Air Force during the Korean War serving 2 years in England.
   He was preceded in death by his daughter Gail Hollis Shaw; brother John Barton Hollis; and his parents.
    Survivors include his wife Carole Hollis of Groveton, Texas; son and daughter in law Nelson Odell “Eddie” Hollis, Jr. and wife Dehise of Huntsville, Texas; daughter and friend Lynda Lea Hollis McMullen and Brandon Fitts of Pollok, Texas; brothers and sisters in law Clayton and Lillie Faye Hollis of Groveton, Texas and Nancy Hollis of Livingston, Texas; sister and brother in law Donna and Bill  Lester of Groveton, Texas; sister in law Maxine Hollis of Hawkins, Texas; seven grandchildren Quinton and Chawnree Hollis of Groveton, Texas, Kyle and Autumn Shaw of Groveton, Texas, Bradley and Amanda McMullen of Hudson, Wesley Dominy of Lexington, Texas, Amy and Danny Landrum of Huntsville, ShaLane McMullen of Centralia, Texas, Heather Hollis of Dubque, Iowa; twelve great grandchildren Blake Hollis, Kaden Hollis, Zoie Tieskoetter, Hollis Anderson, Krysta Landrum, Destiny Landrum, Hailey Landrum, Bryson McMullen, Miranda Scoggin, Hannah Scoggin, Cameron Shaw, and Chandler  Shaw.
   Memorials may be made to the Diabetes or Heart Associations.

   John Nelson Weaver, age 58, of Dallas, Texas passed away April 11, 2007 in Dallas, Texas. He was born January 7, 1949, in Beaumont, Texas, to Doyle Marshall and Pauline Violet (Anderson) Weaver.
   John spent his entire working career in the banking industry, beginning with First Bank & Trust in Lufkin in 1969. He served in positions in Groveton, Lufkin and Dallas, before finishing his career as Senior Vice President and head of the Operations Department with Comerica from 1993 to 2007. He always worked "Bank Night", the banking industry's American Heart Association fund raiser.
    John is survived by his son, Brad Weaver of Zavalla; grandchildren, Jessica Shird and Rebecca Powelle, both of Zavalla; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Robert Nielsen of Montgomery and Bettie and Harold Scroggins of Lufkin; and several nieces and nephews.
   John was preceded in death by his father in 1994; and his mother in 2004.
   Honorary pallbearers were Mike Scroggins, Harold Scroggins, Richard Scroggins, Kenneth Scroggins, Dennie Keene and Red Caldwell.
   Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 15, 2007, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Dr. Mark Forrest officiating.
   Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2007, in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park in Lufkin.

   Funeral services for James Buford Malone, 75, of Wood-lake, Texas were held Thursday April 19, 2007 in the Groveton Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 am.  Interment followed in the Union Springs Cemetery in Polk County, Texas.
   Mr. Malone was born October 6, 1931 in New Willard, Texas and passed away Sunday April 15, 2007 in Crockett, Texas.
   He was affiliated with the American Legion, VFW, Retired NCO’s, and Paralyzed Veterans.  He was a retired self employed Logger.
    Survivors include his wife Lillian Richardson Malone of Woodlake, Texas; children Christie and Tony Abbott of Stockton, California, Jeff and Lesley Malone of Woodlake, Texas, and Melodye French of Woodlake, Texas; brother Bob Malone of New Willard, Texas; sister and brother in law Willie and Ray Parker of Bernie, Texas; seven grandchildren Monica and Brian White of Spring, Texas, Sharon and Valerie Abbott of Stockton, California, Erin Malone of Orlando, Fla., Chelse Malone of El Paso, Texas, Garrett and Russell French of Woodlake, Texas; two great grandchildren Jared and Savannah White of Spring, Texas; and numerous other relatives and friends.
   Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes As-sociation.

   Funeral services for Tina Bell Campbell 91, of Galena Park, Texas were held Wednesday April 18,  2007 at 11:00 am at Calvary Baptist Church with Bro. James Whittlesey officiating.  Interment followed in the Ivie Cemetery.
   Mrs. Campbell was born November 17, 1915 in Houston County, Texas and passed away Sunday April 15, 2007 in Galena Park, Texas.  She was a homemaker and associated with Calvary Baptist Church.
   She was preceded in death by her husband Donald John Campbell; son Jerald Campbell; brothers William Gates and Cleet Gates; and sister Bertie Lee Walker.
   Survivors include her children Maxie Campbell and wife Linda of Houston, Jeanette Ryne of Houston, Joyce Coates of Houston, Eddie Campbell and wife Clara of Wimberly, and Greg Campbell and wife Susan of Kennard; brother Clayborn Gates and wife Lucille of Houston; sister Elner Smitherman of Houston and Fannie Maud Sides and husband Jesse of Lufkin; eleven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
   Pallbearers were James McComb, Gene McComb, Robert McComb, Steve McComb, Raymond Gates, and Johnny Zolman.

    Funeral services for Donald Garth Baughman, 82, of Trinity, Texas were held Tuesday April 17, 2007 at 4:00 pm at Friendship Harbor Church with Rev. John Budd officiating.  Interment followed in the Chita Cemetery.
    Donald Garth Baughman was 82 years old when the Lord called him home on Saturday April 14, 2007. Donald was born on March 28, 1925 in Foxworth, Mississippi to the late Enoch Elijah and Pearl Ball Baughman. Donald served in the United States Army, during WWII, 1944 to 1946. During the war, he served as a lineman and telegraph wire systems man. He laid wire and set up field telephones. 
   In June of 1948 he married Louise Marshburn.  Donald retired after more than 30 years of service as a Union Iron Worker, Local 84. He and his family moved to Trinity in 1974. Donald was a faithful member of Friendship Harbor Church.
   Survivors include his wife of 58 years Louise Marshburn Baughman; children Donald Ray Baughman and wife Dianne, Cathy Taylor and husband Johnny, Connie Scott and husband Earl, Ronnie Baughman and wife Elizabeth Rick Baughman and wife Lisa; grandchildren, Donald Ray Baughman, Jr. and wife Jodie, Michael Wayne Baughman and wife Judy, Malinda Sue Read and husband Larry, Tammy Hudson and husband Damon, Scott Baughman, Kevin Baughman, Gwendolyn Wyn-gate and husband Jerry,  Priscilla Baughman, Jessica Phelps, Jonathon Phelps, Justin Hopson, Cindy Ackley and husband Ben, Cheryl Baker  and husband Lauris, Eulala Jones, Dougie Jones; great-grand-children, Ashley, Matthew, Megan, Clayton, Justin, Courtney, Cody, Chelsey, Logan, Lacy, Justin, Caleb, Heather, Jonathan, Taylor, and Shelby; brothers and sisters Robert Baughman and wife Edith, Ed Baughman and wife Evelyn Mary McFerrin; and numerous others relatives

      A Memorial Service for Carl Wesley Thomas, Jr., 50, of Minden, Texas was held Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at 1:00 pm at Waller-Thornton Funeral Home
   Mr. Thomas was born February 16, 1957 in Houston, Texas and passed away on April 15, 2007 in Tyler, Texas.  He served his country in the United States Marines.  He was a Journeymen Plumber. He loved to fish and go hunting.
   He is preceded in death by father Carl Wesley Thomas, Sr.
   Survivors include his wife of 25 years Paula Sue Thomas; daughters Jeanette Tullis and  husband Matt, Amanda Nicole Thomas; step-daughter Melissa Garman and husband Jeremy; five grandchildren; mother  Glyndon Virginia  Ginn Thomas; brothers and sister Barry Thomas and wife Terri Barbara Smires and husband Larry Glynn Thomas and husband Kevin; and numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives.

   Graveside service for Helen M. (Parker) Shaver age 82, of Palestine are pending at the Chita Cemetery near Groveton. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home, Palestine.
   Mrs. Shaver died Monday at Palestine Regional Medical Center, David E. Foster Hospice Unit.
