MARGIE RUTH “POLLY” LANKFORD
   Funeral Services for Margie Ruth (Barrett) Lankford, 83, of Lufkin, were held Saturday, March 21, 2009, in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Pat Jones and Bro. Harold Hancock officiating. Interment followed in the Trevat Cemetery.
   Mrs. Lankford was born August 7, 1925 in Trinity County, the daughter of the late Marilla Ann (Standley) and Grover Cleveland Barrett. She passed away Monday March 16, 2009, at her home with her loved ones by her side.
   Mrs. Lankford was a faithful member of Union Road Church of Christ and a former member of Trevat Church of Christ. Her greatest joy was attending church and spending time with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a Godly example to everyone. Mrs. Lankford was employed by Baskins Department Stores in Groveton and Diboll for several years. She enjoyed growing beautiful flowers in her yard, and was an excellent seamstress.
   Mrs. Lankford was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years Wallace W. Lankford; brothers, Revis, Jim and Joe; and sister, Cora.
   Pallbearers were Barrett Lankford, Doug Lankford, Rory Truss, Jonathan Hensley, Blake Thornton and Daniel Crumpton.
    Survivors include her children and their spouses son Ted A. and Charlene Lankford of Lufkin; daughters and son-in-laws Jozy and Roy Truss of Lufkin and Sandy and Donald Hensley of Round Rock; grandsons and their spouses, Barrett and Christy Lankford, Doug and Brandi Lankford, Rory and Jennifer Truss; and grandson Jonathan Hensley; granddaughters and their spouses Corey and Blake Thornton and Rebekah and Daniel Crumpton; 11 great-grandchildren; brother Rayford Barrett of Diboll; and brother and wife, Ralph and Reba Barrett of Groveton.
   In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mrs. Lankford’s memory may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 116 S. Raguet, Lufkin, Texas 75901.

LARRY LENT KENNEDY
   Funeral Services for Larry Lent Kennedy, 49, of Woodlake were held Thursday April 2, 2009 at Groveton Funeral Home with Bro. James Whittlesey officiating.  Interment followed in the Bennett Cemetery.
   Mr. Kennedy was born January 12, 1960 in Houston and passed away Thursday March 26, 2009 in Austin, Texas; he was affiliated with Oak Grove Assembly, and was an Ironworker for the Fayette County Power Plant.
  Survivors include his daughter Stephanie Michelle Kennedy of Corrigan; son Christopher Edward Kennedy and wife Amanda Lea of Corrigan; daughter Rachall Nicole Kennedy of North Carolina; father Lent Kennedy of Woodlake; grandmothers Marie Kennedy of Woodlake and Berta Lee Selecthta of Lufkin; sisters Teresa Ann Kennedy of Houston and Patricia Crager and husband Wiley of Lufkin; brother Donald Kennedy of Lufkin; five grandchildren; step brother Johnny; step sisters Debbie and Sarah; and numerous other relatives and friends.

DEACON JOE LEWIS DUNN
   Funeral service for Deacon Joe Lewis Dunn will be held Saturday April 4, 2009 at 11:00am in the Baldwin Chapel Baptist Church in Groveton.  Deacon Dunn passed away Thursday March 26, 2009 at Memorial Herman, Woodlands, Texas.  Viewing will be from 10:00am until 11:00am at Baldwin Chapel Baptist Church.
