Better Known as Granny
   Funeral Services for Laura Leura “Granny” Lawson Johnson were held on Tuesday November 27, 2007 at 3:00pm at Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Gerald Albert officiating.  Interment followed in Bethel Cemetery.
   Granny was born June 20, 1916 in Nacogdoches, Texas and passed away at the age of 91 on Sunday November 25, 2007 in Trinity, Texas.
   Granny worked for Arnold Venetian Blind Company.  She was a strong Christian Woman. Her favorite passion was fishing for the flounder. She’d catch and drag up some of the biggest flounder the children had ever seen. Granny was a member of Order of the Eastern Star.
  She is preceded in death by her parents Murph and Laura Scroggins Lawson; husband William Hall; daughter, Carolyn Tindall; and son Gary Johnson
   Survivors include her son-in-law, Ed Tindall; grandchildren Kevin Johnson and wife Ann, Michael Tindall and wife Vanessa, Alan Tindall, Dois Allen and wife Rachel; great-grandchildren Jared Tindall, Jessica Solonka, Billy Mullins, and Josie Tindall; great-great granddaughter Savannah Solonka; and numerous other relatives.
Waller-Thornton Funeral Home

    Funeral services for Floyd Edward “Bo” Magee of Houston, Texas were held Monday December 3, 2007 at 2:00 pm in Glendale Baptist Church.  Interment followed in the Thornton Cemetery.
   Bo was born January 22, 1933 in Saron, Texas and passed away Friday November 30, 2007 in Houston, Texas.  He was a press operator.
  Survivors include his wife Betty Magee; children Joyce Granberry and husband Roy, Eddie Magee, Janice Stock and husband Greg, Mary Burdyski and husband John; grand-children Empire, Venessa, Ben, Monica, Steven, Taylor, Sabring, and Zack; brothers George Magee and Banks Magee.
    Pallbearers were Empire Granberry, J. D. Wallace, Greg Stock, Justin Hunter, Ben McRill, Billy Anderson, and Tim Anderson.

   Memorial services for Gary Ray Jurek, 51, were held Saturday, December 1, 2007 at 2:00pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in West Monroe, Louisiana.
    Gary was born on February 6, 1956 in Lufkin, Texas and passed away on Tuesday, November 27, 2007 in a Nursing Home in West Monroe, Louisiana after a 7-month fight against cancer.
   He was preceded in death by his father, Jesse John Jurek.
   Survivors include his wife, Deb Jurek of West Monroe, Louisiana; mother, Frances Jurek of Groveton, Texas; identical twin brother Larry Jurek and wife Connie of Bossier City, Louisiana and their children Jared, Lara, and Lauren; brother, Jay Jurek and wife Deborah of Weatherford, Texas and their children Jesse and Jason; brother Tony Jurek of Groveton, Texas and his child Austin; sister Kathie Turner and husband Keith of Groveton, Texas and their children Krystal and Karoline; and a host of other relatives and friends.
