   Zula Bell Thompson Mills, age 91 and wife of 58 years to R.Q. Mills entered Heaven on June 1, 2007.  
    She is preceded in death by her parents Martin Luther and Mary Emeline Thompson of Friday, TX and her siblings, Orgen Thompson, Nathan Thompson, Wilford Thompson, Cleo Thompson, Vincent Thompson, OZ Thompson, Leona Harrison, Mary Mag-dalene Gordon Rasbeary and one daughter Vergie Nell Page. 
    She is survived by her hus-band R.Q. Mills, her siblings Roberta Miller, Darlene Pyle, Maurine Williams, Lillie Mae Dunlap, Sallye Evans and Tom Thompson; her son Luther Gene Hathorn, Granddaughter Dorothy and her husband Gary Simpson and their children Joshua, Nathan and Courtney, Granddaughter Cynthia and her husband Joe Davis and their children Molly and Bonnie; her daughter Michele and her husband Anthony Koenig and their children Caleb, Josiah, Hannah, Rachel and Matthias. 
   She was a long time resident of Pasadena, Texas.  Through her hard work she assisted her husband in forming the largest landscaping company in Texas in the 1960's as well as many other personal businesses.  She was dedicated to her large family and although she gave birth to one child, she raised three as her own, and was known as “Ma Mills” to many.          
   Visitation was held at the Grandview Funeral home on June 4th from 5-8 pm and a Memorial Service was held on June 5th at 3:00 pm at Grandview Funeral Home.

    Robbie Mae McCarley, born July 28, 1923, first of four children of Bartow and Reba Maynard in Normangee, Texas died on May 23, 2007 at the age of 83 after a full and rewarding life as a Christian woman, devoted spouse, loving mother, grandmother and cherished friend.
    Robbie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of forty-eight years Houston McCarley; brothers J.B. May-nard and Otis Maynard; and a sister Georgia Chernosky.
   She is survived by her son G. Scott McCarley and wife Mary; daughter Debi Wilmeth and husband Greg; three grand-children, Cari Gilbert, John Scott Wilmeth and Katie McCarley Phelps and husband Jason. Robbie leaves behind many friends that she treasured and loved.
   Robbie was a long time member of First United Methodist Church of Trinity, Texas where she taught Sunday school, was a member of the choir, Sunday school super-intendent, and member of the church board.
   Robbie was a past Citizen of the Year in Trinity. She was awarded the Community Builder Award for distinguished service and personal contributions by the Joe Werner Masonic Lodge #553. She was named volunteer of the Year several times for over nine thousand hours of community volunteer service. She was also a member of Eastern Star, the Hospital Auxiliary of Trinity, Ombudsman for the Avalon Nursing Home, and was named Ombudsman Of The Year for the State of Texas in 1994, a past president of AARP, member of the Red Hat Society and Do-As-We-Please-Girls, United Methodist Women, Trinity Sports Booster Club, American Legion Auxiliary, Daughters of American Veterans and the Trinity Fair Association. She also volunteered weekly at the Martin Senior Center.
   Robbie’s devotion to volunteer service will live on through the Houston and Robbie McCarley Community Service Scholarship Endowment at Sam Houston State where each year deserving students will be awarded scholarships in return for their volunteer service.

   Funeral services for Geneva Ann Redden, 56, of Nacog-doches, Texas were held Saturday June 2, 2007 at 11:00 am in the Groveton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Calvin Kersh officiating.  Interment followed in the New Church Cemetery.
   Mrs. Redden was born July 24, 1950 in Cleveland, Texas and passed away Wednesday May 30, 2007 in Nacogdoches, Texas.  She was affiliated with the Baptist Church and was a Deli Clerk for Kroger.
   She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Hellen Pauline Rhoudes.
   Survivors include her husband Wayne Redden of Nacog-doches, Texas; daughters Paula K. Redden and Waine L. Redden, both of Nacogdoches, Texas; step-daughter and son in law Jean and Jimmy Wright of Lufkin, Texas; brother and sister in law Robert and LaDonna Rhoudes of Decatur; sister and brother in law Mary Aaron and Bill Pearson of Nacogdoches, Barbara and Wilburn Runnels of Huntsville, Texas; sister in law and brother in law Robbie and James Duff of Lufkin, Texas, and Wanda and Thomas Cooper of Stigler, Oklahoma; brother in law Edgar West of Groveton, Texas; four grandchildren  and two great grandchildren.

   Funeral services for Billlie Floye Pillows, 76, of Groveton, Texas were held Tuesday June 5, 2007 at 11:00 am. in the Groveton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Terry Morris officiating.  Interment followed in the Moore Cemetery.
   Mrs. Pillows was born March 2, 1931 in Nacogdoches, Texas and passed away Saturday June 2, 2007 in Groveton, Texas. She was affiliated with the Baptist Church, a retired Cosmetologist, and a Centerville School Board for 23 years.
  She was preceded in death by her son Earl Ray Mericle, and her parents Henry and Gracie Herring Morris.
  Survivors include her husband Robert Lee Pillows, Jr. of Groveton, Texas; children Preston Mericle and wife Mary of Livingston, Texas, Billie White and husband James of Trinity, Texas, Floye Hall of Thibodeaux, La., Gleen Pillows of Trinity, Texas; brother Morris Hilton of Shertz, Texas; eight grandchildren; and fifteen great grandchildren.
  Pallbearers were Shane Pillows, Judd Pillows, Kenneth Fry, Kevin Fry, Sherwood Forrest, and Travis Forrest.  Honorary pallbearers were her grandsons.

   A graveside service for Lewis Mortilee Johnson, 69, of Onalaska, Texas was held May 18, 2007 at 11:00 am at the Carlisle Cemetery with Reverend Douglas Johnson officiating.
  Lewis Mortilee Johnson was born on January 4, 1939 in Trinity, Texas.  He passed away on May 15, 2007 at his residence.  Lewis was a Gentle man; he was honest, generous and compassionate; and he was a man who loved and respected his family. He loved his ever present companion, his puppy “Little Man”. Lewis also loves the company of all his many friends and his pastime fishing. He will be held dear in all our hearts.
   Lewis was preceded in death by his parents Robert Lee and Nellie Viola Johnson; brothers Odell, Clyde, John D. Tom, Donald, and Robert Johnson; and his sisters Olla May Gray and Lois Smith.
    Survivors include his wife Betty Callens Johnson of Onalaska; sons Martin Lee Johnson and Danny Lewis Johnson; brother Roscoe John-son; numerous grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

   Mary Evelyn Morrison Bortolazzo, 81, of Trinity died on May 31, 2007 in Trinity.  She was born August 18, 1925 in Mineral Wells, TX, the daughter of Jesse and Margaret Montgomery Calhoun. 
   She was a beautiful woman who loved to dance, and a devoted wife and mother to her three sons.
   She was preceded in death by her husband of 22 years Lawrence J. Bortolazzo, her parents and her brother and sister. 
   Survivors include her husband of 27 years, Raulston Lee Morrison of Trinity, her three sons, Michael and Bobbie Morrison of Trinity, Phillip and Lynn Morrison of Trinity, and Stephen and Kathy Morrison of Hanford, CA., three step-daughters, Judith Ryan of Las Vegas, Diane Hunn of California, and Lori Davison of California. Grandchildren; Kim and Chris Fitzgerald, Janet and William Murdock, Drew and Sheila Robb, Chase Robb, Nicki Morrison, Matt Morrison, and Murphy and Jamie Morrison, Rodney and Claire Fitiausi, and 13 step grandchildren; great grandchildren Anna and Cooper Fitzgerald, Carson Murdock, Lacey, Peyton and, Gracie Robb, Avah Morrison and Georgia Fitiausi, and 11 step great-grandchildren.
   Waller-Thornton Funeral Home directed the arrangements.
