   Bernice Lewis Clark of Groveton was born August 8, 1928 in Houston, Texas and passed away Thursday, September 25, 2008 in Groveton, Texas. There will be no services.
   Mrs. Clark was a retired Transcriptionist for the VA Hospital.
   Survivors include her daughter and son in law Pam and Bennie Abshier of Groveton, Texas; two grand-children; one great grandchild; and numerous other relatives and friends.

   A Memorial service for Beatrice “Granny” Akers was held on Saturday, September 20, 2008 at 10:00 am at Waller-Thornton Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Parrish officiating.
  Granny was born in Smithboro, South Carolina on August 26, 1921. She passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2008 in Tyler, Texas.
   She was a LVN and supervised two nursing homes in Austin, Texas. After her retirement in 1983, she and her husband “Pop” moved to Trinity, Texas to be closer to her family. Granny and Pop then traveled for several years. Their favorite place was Silver Jack Reservoir in Colorado. When they could no longer travel, she spent many hours cooking for her family.
   Granny was preceded in death by her husband John Akers; parents Grover and Maggie Moody; one brother; three sisters; and a great-grandson Zack Brylan Meredith.
  Survivors include her three sons and their spouses Johnny Griffin and friend Judy, Douglas and Monica Rowe, Kenny Wayne and Vandalyn Rowe; daughter Barbara McClintock and husband Ray; step-daughter Judy and husband Alan Crane; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
  Granny and Pops ashes will be scattered over Silver Jack Reservoir in Colorado at a later date.

  Funeral services for Winston Elwood Stephens were held on Monday, September 15, 2008 at 6:00 pm at Waller-Thornton Funeral Home with Rev. Leroy Brown officiating. Interment followed in Clapp Cemetery.
   W. E. was born on February 6, 1930 in Walker County Texas and passed away at his residence on September 10, 2008 in Trinity, Texas
   He was preceded in death by brother Preston Stephens; and parents Arthur Tine and Viola Andrews Stephens.
   Survivors include his children Dana Heuszel and husband Leland, Mary Bryer and husband James, Randy Step-hens, and Rusty Stephens; six grandchildren Stephen Heuszel, Amanda Heuszel and friend Shaun Cook Jesse Heuszel, Jennifer Ragsdale, Jimmy Ragsdale, Janice Thompson and husband Robby; great-grandchildren, Travis, Thomas, Austin, Hailey and Macie; sister-in-law Lou Ella Stephens; numerous other relatives.

   Funeral services for Barbara Jean Snyder were held Sunday, September 7, 2008 at Dorcas Wills Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Leroy Brown and Pastor Jason Burden officiating. Interment followed in Latexo Cemetery in Latexo, Texas.
  Barbara was born on February 2, 1931 in Kansas City, Kansas and passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2008 in Trinity, Texas.
  She was preceded in death by her parents Ralph and Mildred Jones; sister Rose Johnson; and niece Cheryle Boge.

   Funeral services for Billy Joe Wilson were held Monday, September 15, 2008 at Waller-Thornton Funeral Home with Rev. Lee Watson officiating. Burial followed in Holly Cemetery.
    Billy Joe was born September 16, 1933 in Haskell, Texas and passed away in Bay City, Texas on September 9, 2008. 
  He was preceded in death by his parents Coy and Patsy Wilson; son Randall Wayne Wilson; brothers Bryant, Tommy, and Kenneth Allen; grandmother Bertha Buttler; and uncle, Floyd Burnette.
  Survivors include his wife of 56 years Marilyn Wilson; children Chester Don Wilson and wife Melony ,Leslie Cheryl Hatfield and friend Chris Merritt; grandchildren Colleen Denise Wilson and husband Norbert, Casey Diane Mosley and husband Nick, Trevor Brent Burrow, Blake Edward Reddick, and Tyler Lee Reddick; great-grandchildren Ashley Lauren Sellers, Preston Gale Wilson, Landon Wade Mosley, Fisher Shaun Mosley, Casey Wilson, and Phillip Wilson; brothers and sister Robert Lee Allen, Sammy Gene Allen, and Patsy Sylvestes; mother-in-law, Nell Williams; nieces and nephews, Tracy, Cheryl Watson, Dana, Deanna, Deewayne, and  Nicole Allen; and numerous other relatives and friends.

   Funeral services for Donald Leon Webb were held on Saturday, September 27, 2008 at Trinity Fellowship Church with Family Members officiating.  Burial followed in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
   Mr. Webb was born on September 4, 1922 in Henderson County Texas to Rev. Joe S. Pearl Webb. He attended High School in Henderson County. At the age of seventeen he joined Civilian Conservation Corps served a tour in New Mexico.  He helped build roads. Don completed three years of service with the CCC’s before he joined the Army Air Force on August 29, 1942; he served in the European Theatre.  Upon returning to the states he came to live in Trinity. He married Joyce Andrews of Lovelady, Texas on May 28, 1950. They attended business school in Tyler. Donald began work in 1951 for Braniff Airlines in Dallas, Texas. He was employed for more than 31 years with Braniff Airlines. During this time he and Joyce had three children. They attended the Assembly of God Churches during their 58 years of marriage.
   Donald passed away peacefully at home in Garland, Texas on September 24, 2008 with his loving and faithful wife and children by his side.
    He was preceded in death by a daughter, Patsy Ann Webb Carrington; brother Joe Webb; sisters Rosa Nell Jenkins, Aurora Pond; and his parents.
   Survivors include his wife Joyce Webb; son Steve Webb and Cheryl; daughter Donna and David Housewright; brothers William, Robert, Jerry, Jack and Cecil Webb; sister Betty Carlile; and numerous nieces and nephew and other family members.

   Funeral services for Edward Smith “Buddy” Jones, Jr. were held on Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at 5:00 pm at Dorcas Wills Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Jason Burden and Rev. Leroy Brown officiating. Burial follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery with military honors presented.
  Buddy was 64 years old when he passed away at his residence in Trinity on September 12, 2008. Buddy was born August 12, 1944 in Cameron Texas.
   He served his country in the United States Army; he was a lifetime member of VFW Post 6899of Trinity. Buddy was a member of Dorcas Wills Memorial Baptist Church. He had a Bachelors degree in Sociology. Buddy retired from TDCJ after more than 38 years of service. Buddy enjoyed working with his hands restoring old pieces of furniture and collecting Depression glass.
   He is preceded in death by parents Edward Smith and Sally Jones, Sr.; and two infant brothers. 
   Survivors include his wife thirteen years Betty Jones; children Lisa Jones Droddy and husband Eric, Paul Edward Jones and wife Julie; step-children Liz Drake and husband David, John Monteson and fiancé Karen; grandchildren, Easton, Jaiden, Kieran Droddy, Laci, Dawson Jones, Gregory, Amanda, Nicholas Bledsoe; step-grandchildren Russell and wife Grace Drake, Robert Drake; siblings, Anita Trow and husband Mike, Richard Jones and wife Kay, Cheryl Rushing and husband Bobby, Vicki Ramey and husband Tommy, Sandy Sledge and husband Rusty, Nancy Pick, Buster Jones and wife Mary, George Jones and wife Linda; many many nieces and nephews and other relatives.

  Graveside service for Debra Lynn Holland was held on September 17, 2008 at 3:00 PM at Chita Cemetery.
   Debra was born in Beaumont, Texas on February 19, 1959. She passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2008 in Conroe, Texas. Debra attended nursing school a received an associates degree in nursing. She worked as a nurse in medical profession until her health began to fail.
     She is preceded in death by father of her children Dave Holland and her parents Eli Frazier Martin and Evelyn French.
   Survivors include her children
Carla Bragg and husband Mike, Christina Holland, Corey Holland; Granddaughter Saige Bragg; Brothers and sisters Sandra Sachitano, Linda Hare, Brenda Jannise, Randy Atkins, Jerry Sachitano; Step-father Jerry Sachitano, Sr; and numerous other relatives.

  A Mass of Christian Burial for Martha May Bushue was held on Friday, September 26, 2008 at 10:00am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Cleveland with Father Eric Groner officiating. Burial followed in Farley Cemetery in Shepherd, TX.
  Mrs. Bushue formerly of Shepherd and Cleveland entered peacefully into eternal life on Thursday, September 11, 2008 in Conroe, Texas following a long illness.
  She married Richard E. Bushue in 1955 in Alice, Texas and they raised two sons, Richard E. Bushue, Jr. and John C. Bushue.
  Martha was born March 25, 1936, the beloved daughter of Mabel and Johnny May, in Vattmann, Texas.  The fifth of eight children, she was a wonderful, fun loving, and generous person all her life.  Her faith in God carried her through life’s challenges.
  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son Rick; and brother Tom May.
   Survivors include her son, John (Jay) Bushue of Hunts-ville, granddaughters April, Erin, and Kelly Bushue of Shepherd, Texas and Heather and Kaylin Bushue of Henderson, Texas; brothers Hugo, Don, Mike and Ted May; sisters Emma Jean Cameron and Diana Lyons; and many relatives from both the May family and the Illinois based Bushue family who will miss her terribly.
