Willie Migl, age 24, of Shepherd, Texas, passed away after a tragic auto accident on Wednesday, August 19, 2009. Willie was born in Galveston, Texas on April 10, 1985. Willie is preceded in death by his grandfather, Jack S tep hens . Survivors include his m o t h e r , M e l o d y Migl and father, Malchom Migl; daughter, Raegan Michelle Migl; grandparents, Bettie Stephens, Sophia and Jim Wester; sister, Wendy Bates and husband, Kevin; brother, Johnny Migl; nieces’s, Kaley Bates and Kalyn Bates; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many other cherished family members and treasured friends beyond measure. Funeral services were held Saturday, August 22, 2009, 10:00 a.m. at Shepherd United Methodist Church with interment at Farley Chapel Cemetery, Shepherd, Texas; Pastor Ronald Ellisor and John Stevenson presided over services. Pallbearers included Johnny Migl, Travis Everitt, Kevin Bates, Darrell Atchley, Robert Kinder, and Scooter Jarvis; honorary pallbearers included James “Tiny” Strickland, Windle Hill, Mark Barnett, Robert Herrod.

Helen Marie Swindle, born to Clarence and Olive Parker (Batson) in League City, Texas on May 1, 1943 passed away on August 17, 2009 in Conroe, Texas at the age of 66. She was p r e c e d e d in death by her parents, h u s b a n d , Ted Swindle, younger sister, Lela Duke, brother-inlaw, Milton Coburn and nephew, Kerry Duke. Marie is survived by Lela’s daughters: DeDee Davis, husband Jerry and son Jake; D’Anne Smith, husband Kelby, daughters, KaDee, Lauren and granddaughter Karlee. She is also survived by sister, Ida Beth Coburn, her daughter Debbie Merchant, husband Donald, son Guy Craig Moses and wife Amanda, daughter Tana Hagar and husband John, their children Eli and Codi, daughter Cassie Bellamy and husband Wayne; and her son Richard “Ricky” Coburn, wife Denise, daughters Dominique and Hayley and son Lucas; brother, Monroe Parker, wife Mary Ann, children Ronnie Brinkley, Larry Brinkley and Kristi Cox and numerous greatnieces and nephews. Marie graduated from Sam Houston State University with a Master’s Degree in education and taught in the local school districts until retiring from Huntsville Independent School District. She was a member of University Heights Baptist Church in Huntsville, Texas and actively participated in the Abundant Life Sunday Bible Study Class where members became like family to her. She will be missed by all who knew her. Services were Friday, August 21, 2009, 10:00 AM at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Huntsville, Texas with Dr. Don Shannon officiating. Visitation was held Thursday, August 20, 2009, 5:30 – 7:30 PM also at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home. Interment in Mayes Addition of Oakwood Cemetery in Huntsville, Texas following the service.
