John Arthur Clausen, 83, died Friday, February 8, 2008 at Herman Memorial in The Woodlands. He was born May 12, 1924 in Chicago to Arthur and Bejia (Sincox) Clausen.
He is preceded in death by his father Arthur Clausen; mother, Bejia (Sincox) Clausen; and granddaughter Billi Jo Rives.
He is survived by his former wife; son and daughter-in-law, John K. Clausen and Maria of Huntsville; daughter, Carol Sue Clausen of San Antonio; grandson, Luke Clausen of Huntsville; and granddaughter Annika Clausen of Huntsville.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association. He served in the Navy during Korea and WWII having attained the rank of Quartermaster S First Class. He earned the Purple Heart. Military honors were provided by VFW Post 8568.
Funeral services were held February 13 at Cochran Funeral Home in Onalaska. Pastor Jeff Hinkleman officiated.
Edna Earl Courtney, age 87, of New Caney, Texas, passed away Friday, February 8, 2008. She was born in Rosewood, Texas on August 11, 1920 to Robert Carl Lang and Edna Thomas Lang.
She is survived by her husband, Lyle L. Courtney; daughter, Patsy Herren; son, David Mintz; grandchildren, Robin Scott, Gregg Herren; great- grandchildren, Amanda Scott, Clay Scott, Russell Herren.
Graveside services were held Wednesday, February 13, 2008, 1:45 p.m. at Houston National Cemetery, Houston, Texas.
Mary Lou Stemberger, age 78, of Shepherd, Texas, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2008. She was born in Centralia, Oklahoma. on March 4, 1929 to Ora and Dulcie O’Conner Achord.
She is survived by her husband, A.G. (Tony) Stemberger; sons, Michael Allen and wife, Debi Allen, James Allen and wife, Shelly Allen; sisters, Faye Kneeland and husband, Everitt, Mane Kneeland, Bobbie Hill, Pat Escovedo; grandchildren, Laci Patten and husband, Jared, Kris Allen; numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held Wednesday, February 13, 2008, 2:00 p.m. at Shepherd City Cemetery, Shepherd, Texas.
