WILLIAMS
Funeral services for Mrs. Gloria Nannette (Cliburn) Williams, formerly of Waverly, LA and currently of Cleveland, TX were held January 10, 2009 at the Tutor Funeral Home, Magee, MS. Mrs. ‘Nan’, as she was fondly known as over the years, died suddenly on January 7th in Cleveland, Texas. Mrs. Williams was a retired school bus driver for Madison Parish and currently volunteered at the San Jacinto County Senior Citizen Center. Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her eternal companion, R. Howard “Fat Cat” Williams, her father, W. D. Cliburn, and her mother and step-father, Evelyn and Albert Twiner. Mrs. Williams was born in Hermanville, Mississippi on December 1, 1934 and was raised in Copiah County Mississippi by a hard working mother, father and many caring aunts and uncles. After marriage, Mrs. Williams lived the majority of her life at Waverly. There she raised her five children, Gloria Williams (Gonzales, LA), Louise Williams Service (George-West Monroe, LA), Frances Williams (West Monroe, LA), Robert H. Williams Jr. (Jan-Rayville, LA) and Bonita Williams Magby (Douglas- Cleveland TX.) She is survived by 8 siblings: Jarvys Clyburn, Wilburn Clyburn, Sylvia Saxon, Sonny Twiner, Nancy Hatcher, Joe Twiner, Wanda Twiner and Winnie Biddleman. She was blessed with 19 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and in-laws. Mrs. Williams was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had served in many responsibilities in the church throughout her life. She was an avid genealogist and loved to plant and grow all varieties of flowers and vegetables. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and volunteering at the Senior Citizen Center.
