Cecil Raymond Dale, 73, formerly of Middlefield, Ohio passed away on May 28, at his home in Shepherd, Texas. Cecil was one of nine children born to Ruth and Charles Dale of Middlefield. Cecil served our country with the United States Marine Corps, from 1953 – 1956, with Company A, 1st Tank Battalion, 1st Marine Division, in Guadalcanal during the Korean War. He was also a member of the Trumball County Marine Corps League Rifle Club – DET 958. Cecil was an avid reader and hunter; he followed the USMC Code of Conduct “Semper Fi”. Cecil was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ruth, sisters, Lottie Kuzmaul and Laverrne Miller, brothers, Glen Dale and Elvin (Bud) Dale. He leaves his memories to daughters: Sherrill Beasley and husband Michael of Willoughby, Robin DiSanto and husband Tim Sykes, of Norton, Tracey Dale-Reeves and husband Timothy, of Shepherd, Texas, Jennifer Dickerson and husband Gary of Houston. Grandchildren include: Stacie Kiggins of Ark., Shawn Duck, David Krebbs, A.J. Di Santo, all of Ohio, Amanda Kidd, Jessica, Tyler, and Kayla Schlittenhardt, of Texas, and 5 Great-Grandchildren. Along with brothers: Arthur Dale and wife Mabel, of Middlefield, Charles (Butch) Dale of Hiram, sisters: Edith Richmond of Ashtabula, and Peggy Komandt of Warren. Numerous nieces, nephews, other family and an abundance of friends. A memorial service will be held on June 14, at the 1st Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Sam Steele officiating, internment in Shepherd, Texas. Cochran Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Marlin Ray Franklin, age 58, of Shepherd, Texas, passed away, Sunday, June 1, 2008. He was born, August 24, 1949 in Cleveland, Texas to Raymond Riley Franklin and Mildred Phillips Franklin. Pastor Mike Chapman conducted the funeral services held 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at New Covenant Non-Denominational Church. Shepherd, Texas with interment at Farley Chapel Cemetery, Shepherd, Texas. He is preceded in death by his father, Raymond Franklin; son, Marlin Franklin, Jr.; grandsons, James Nettles, Wade Franklin, and Daniel Franklin. Survivors include his loving wife, Lawana Franklin, mother, Mildred Franklin; sons, Billy Franklin and wife, Michele, Phillip Swiech and wife, Kim; daughters, Crystal O’Dell and husband, Jimmy, Amanda Ishee and husband, Matt, Laura Grizzle, Jessica Irwin; grandchildren, Jeff Franklin, Joseph Franklin, Colin Grizzle, Blaine Grizzle, Wesley Franklin, Billy Franklin, Shelbie Franklin, Katelyn Ishee, Katrina Ishee, Kiara Boyd, and Brooklynn Boyd; brothers, Travis Franklin and wife, Peggy, Ricky Franklin and wife, Karen, Ronnie Franklin and wife, Gena; sisters, Peggy Franklin, Wanda Chapman and husband, Mike and many other family members and treasured friends.

Lula Jane Graham, age 89, of Coldspring, Texas, passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2008. She was born in Palacios, Texas on September 12, 1918 to Emitt H. and Elize Jane Linton. Lula Graham we affectionately known to all as “Mama Lou”. She is survived by two nephews, Gerald L. Christian and L.E. Christian; and two nieces, Joyce Henson and Daurece Cox. She will be missed by all whose lives she touched, including members of her extended family: The McDaniels’, The Casas’, The Morales’, The Martinezs’, The Phillips’, The Trevinos’ and most importantly, Bryan Hilton. Arrangements were made through Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas.

Joseph Dennis McGee Jr., 70, of Coldspring, Texas, passed away Sunday, June 8, 2008. He was born in Houston, Texas on April 13, 1938 to Joseph Dennis McGee Sr. and Grace Carrie McGee. He is preceded in death by his sister, Wanda Stephens. Survivors include his loving wife, Barbara McGee; mother, Grace C. McGee; daughter, Gayla McGee Miller and husband, Mike; grandchildren, Cody Miller and Alyssa Miller; brother, Jerry McGee; sister, Dot Garland; nephews, Doug Garland and Dale Garland; nieces, Debbie Garland, Sherry Clark, Lisa Stephens, Rhonda Bass, Jamie Stephens and many other treasured family members and caring friends. Memorial services were held Wednesday, June 11, 2008, 2:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Coldspring, Texas.

Duane Dillard, 66, of Coldspring passed away Sunday, June 1, 2008 at Conroe Regional Hospital. He was born on July 17, 1941 in Ball, La. to Estelle (Woody) and Theilbert A. Dillard (Monk). He owned and operated Dillard’s Machine Shop in Coldspring. He is preceded in death by his father, T.A. Dillard; brother, John Dillard (Sonny); mother, Estelle (Woody, Dillard; daughter, Donna Michelle (Mike) Dillard. He is survived by his wife, Alva Dillard (Cissie); daughter, Teresa Dillard of Spring; stepdaughter, Samantha Walthall of Coldspring; sister, June Meyers of Toronto, Ohio; brothers, Timmy Dillard of Tioga, La and Chip Dillard of Harrison, Ark; brother in spirit L.K. Stuart; and very special grandson, Adrian Dillard. A gathering of family and friends is planned for June 13, 2008 at the Lake Ravne Lodge in the wooded serenity of Huntsville State Park from 11 am until ?.
