John Henry Currie
TRINITY – John Henry Currie, 88, of Shepherd died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2008, in Texas City.
He was born Sept. 8, 1920, in Lovelady and worked as a carpenter.
No services are planned at this time.
Survivors include his wife, Lillian Irene Currie; a daughter, Mary Lou Currie; and three grandchildren.
Trinity Funeral Home directed the arrangements.

Joyce Laverne Jennings
TRINITY – Services for Joyce Laverne Jennings, 68, of Groveton were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009, at Groveton Funeral Home with Bro. Lester McAdams officiating.
Burial followed in the San Jacinto Memorial Park in Houston.
Mrs. Jennings died Saturday, Jan. 3, in Groveton.
She was born July 14, 1940, in Lindale and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Oaklawn Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J.P. Smith and Leola Foster Person; and a son, Robert Karl Wooten.
Survivors include her husband, Roy Len Jennings of Groveton; a daughter, Susie Stafford of Villa Rice, Ga.; a daughter-in-law, Thersha Wooten of Kennefik; two step-daughters, Nancy Ridge of Clearwater, Fla., and Rhonda Grimes of Pearland; a brother, Johnny Smith; a step-sister, Sharon Evans; a step-brother, Murry Person Jr.,; grandchildren, Richard Karl Wooten, Robert Moers, Lindsey Moers, Conrad Moers, Taylor Grimes and Kailey Grimes; and a number of other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the Oaklawn Baptist Church.
Groveton Funeral Home directed the arrangements.

Casey Alan Rose
WEST COLUMBIA – Services for Casey Alan Rose, 20, were held 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009, at the Baker Funeral Home in West Columbia with Mark Ducroz officiating.
Burial followed in Columbia Cemetery.
Mr. Rose died Friday, Jan. 2.
He was born Nov. 21, 1988, in Lake Jackson and was preceded in death by his grandmother, Nita “Nana” Dodds; an uncle, Jimbo Rose; and a cousin, Felix Green.
Survivors include his mother, Robin Crawford of West Columbia; his father and step-mother, Lary and Liz Rose of Sargent; a brother and his spouse, Chris and Miranda Rose of Trinity; a sister, Crystal Rose of Clute; grandparents, Ralph “Big Daddy” Ducroz of West Columbia, Willie Mae Rose of Mexia, Buddy Rose of Green River, Wyo., and Zelma Groze of Damon; two uncles and their spouses, Tony Alan and Donna Rose of Sweeny and Buzzy and Janette Rose of Damon; two aunts and a spouse, Rhonda Ducroz of West Columbia and Angel and Frank Washington of Tenaha; and a number of other family members and friends.
Pallbearers included Kurt Sinor, Taylor Wootten, Sean Somers, Steven Wise, Jesse Hartley, Aaron Sparkman, Travis Thornton, Kevin Barker, Jerred Green, Mikey Frazer, Roy Frazer, Colby Newsome, Blake Hurst and Jerry Hartley. Honorary pallbearers included the late Felix Green and the late Charles Frazier.
Baker Funeral Home of West Columbia directed the arrangements.

Onalee Tipton
TRINITY – Onalee Tipton, 67, of Huntsville died Sunday, Dec. 28, 2008, in Riverside.
Funeral services will be set at a later time.
Mr. Tipton was born May 31, 1941, in Wichita, Kansas and was employed as a maintenance supervisor.
Survivors include a son and his spouse, Darren Paul and Angela Rumsey of Fort Worth; and one grandson, James Lee Rumsey of Fort Worth.
Trinity Funeral Home directed the arrangements.

Nelma Jean Brantley Stephens
TRINITY – Services for Nelma Jean Brantley Stephens, 72, of The Woodlands were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009, at the Trinity Church of Christ.
Burial followed in Clapp Cemetery.
Mrs. Stephens died Monday, Dec. 29, in The Woodlands.
She was born April 29, 1936, in Trinity County and was a homemaker and mother. In her later years, she went to work for Weiners Department Store.
Mrs. Stephens was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Della Brantley.
Survivors include two daughters and their spouses, Dana and Leland Heuszel of Huntsville and Mary and James Bryer of New Caney; two sons, Randy Stephens and Rusty Stephens, both of Trinity; two brothers and their spouses, Lard L. and Frieda Brantley of Cypress and Edgar Lynn and Sherrill Brantley of Pasadena; a sister, Donna Wall of Tomball; grandchildren, Jennifer and Jimmy Ragsdale, Stephen Heuszel, Janice and Robby Thompson, Amanda Heuszell and Shaun Cook and Jesse Heuszel; five great-grandchildren, Austin Ragsdale, Thomas Cook, Travis Cook, Hailey Thompson and Macie Thompson; several nieces and nephews; a number of other relatives; and many friends at Tamarac Pines in The Woodlands.
Trinity Funeral Home directed the arrangements.
