Bonnie Jeanette Dunn
TRINITY -- Services for Bonnie Jeanette Dunn, 81, were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Groveton with the Rev. Lewis Jones officiating. Burial followed at the Glenwood Cemetery in Groveton. Ms. Dunn died Saturday, Jan. 7, in Lufkin. She was born Jan. 30, 1930 in Saron, the daughter of Nolan “Bud” and Eva (Fussell) Thompson. Ms. Dunn was a 1949 graduate of Groveton High School and worked for Camp Olympia near Trinity for 20 years. She also worked as secretary for Texas Ice and Fuel for 20 years or longer. Ms. Dunn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Odis Dunn; a brother, Elmer Thompson and wife Juanita; sisters, Ruby Purdue and and husband Dwight, Hazel Meyer and husband Rich, Pauline Jones and husband Marion, Claudia (Bill) Vacek, and Bonita Chandler; and a brother-in-law, Cecil White. Survivors include three children and their spouses, Sharon Howard, Doreen and Kenneth Klaus and Tommy and Diane Dunn; a sister, Betty White; and two brothers-in-law, Richard Vacekand Dave Chandler; grandchildren, Debbie and Mark Bradey, Greg and Tracye Dunn; four great-grandchildren, Bethany and Hunter Dunn, Kristen Bradey, and Austin Bradey; friends, Pat and Shay Centilli; and a number of cousins, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Robert Paul Hanson
TRINITY -- Graveside services for Robert Paul Hanson, 77, were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012 at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Trinity with the Rev. Leroy Brown officiating. Mr. Hanson died peacefully in The Woodlands on Jan. 6, 2012. He was born Aug. 13, 1934 in Pittsburg, Texas. Mr. Hanson was a camera man and worked for many years in the printing industry for the Charles P. Young Company. He was a member of the Dorcas Wills Baptist Church in Trinity. Mr. Hanson was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Spain and Annie Mae Hanson; and his wife, Bonnie Hanson. Survivors include three children and their spouses, Paula and Mark Sandell, Rhonda and Danny Gonzales and Randy and Suzanne Hanson; a sister and her spouse, Joann and Dennis Mann; grandchildren, Zach and Meg, Micah, Ben and Kelli, Daniel, Chris; four great-grandchildren, Addyson, Landen, Ty and Preslee; and a number of other relatives and friends. Alice Stout Lee
GROVETON -- Services for Alice Stout Lee, 92, of Chita were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 16, 2012 at Groveton Funeral Home with Bro. Kenneth Myers and Bro. Mark Gray officiating. Burial followed in the Chita Cemetery. Mrs. Lee died Tuesday, Jan. 12, in Webster. She was born Jan. 28, 1919 in Idabell, Okla. She was affiliated with Trinity Pines Baptist Church, served on the board of the Chita Cemetery Association and had worked for Tomball High School Cafeteria. Her husband Nelson Lee pre-cedes Mrs. Lee in death. Survivors include her son and daughter in law, Ronnie and Linda Lee of Pasadena; a grandson, Matt Lee of Pasadena; a granddaughter , Shana Kelly of Pasadena; a great grandson, Jacob; and numerous other relatives and friends. Pallbearers included Buster Smith, Hamp Burwick, Francis Trahan, Wesley Allen, Lyn Hill, and Tim Jordan. Honorary pall-bearers were Jerry Lyn Lee and Gene Enyart. Donald Wayne Parker
GROVETON – Services for Do-nald Wayne Parker, 80, of Apple Springs were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 15, 2012 at Groveton Funeral Home with Bro. Neil Kemper offi-ciating. Burial followed in the Bennett Cemetery. Mr. Parker died Friday, Jan. 13, in Lufkin. He was born May 12, 1931 in Trinity County and was employed as a agriculture teacher. He was affiliated with the Church of Christ. Mr. Parker was preceded in death by his parents, Jeff and Hester Parker; a daughter, Mary Ann McCarty; a brother, Jeff Parker Jr.; and a sister, Opal McGraw. Survivors include his wife, Betty Sue Parker of Apple Springs; a daughter and her husband, Donna and Roy Shafer of Conroe; a brother, John Elvin Parker of Groveton; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and friends. Loretta Roese
PASADENA – Services for Lo-retta Roese, 81, were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012, in The Chapel of Grand View Funeral Home in Pasadena, Burial followed in the Grand View Memorial Park. Mrs. Roese died Jan. 6. She was born in Osage, Okla. and was a longtime resident of Pasadena before retiring to Trinity. She was a member of the American Legion Post #521, the VFW, and a member of the Moose Lodge in Pasadena. She is preceded in death by her husband, William Roese, and granddaughter, Danea Ellen Potter. TRINITY -- Services for Mary Hazel Skainswere, 87, were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 16, 2012 at the Carlisle Baptist Church with Pastor Dwain Pollard officiating. Burial followed at the Carlisle Cemetery. Mrs. Skains died Friday, Jan.13. She was born April 7, 1924 in Walker County, the daughter of Dan and Drada (Tipton) Gordan. Mrs. Skains was preceded in death by her parents; and two sons, Gerald Ray Skains and Lynn Ray Skains. Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Gerald Skains of Trinity; a daughter, and her spouse Lometa and Joe Clark of Mineola; a daughter-in-law, Karon Shipman and husband Lin of Carlisle; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a very special friend, Peggy Whitmire; and a number of other relatives and friends. Lois Woods
GROVETON -- Services for Lois Woods, 95, of Trinity were held at 3 p.m. Monday, Jan. 16, 2012 at Groveton Funeral Home with Bro. Archie Smith officiating. Burial followed in Boontown Cemetery. Mrs. Woods died Friday, Jan. 13, in Conroe. She was born April 17, 1916 in Craven, La. She was affiliated with the Baptist Church and was a re-tired butcher for Weingarten’s Gro-cery. She was preceded in death by her her husband, Woodrow Woods, Sr.; son Woodrow Woods, Jr.; three brothers; and five sisters. Pallbearers included Rusty Woods, Gary Woods, Jarrod Me-shell, Scotty Meshell, Billy Wayne Woods and L. J. Woods Jr. Hono-rary pallbearers were Dean Collins, J. R. Woods and Johnny Woods. Survivors include four children and their spouses, Fairlene Collins of Houston, Ted and Cheryl Woods of Magnolia, L.J. and Dorothy Woods of Houston and Linda Meshell of Trinity; a sister, Ann Brinkman of Kirbyville; 20 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends. Patsy Bagley
HUNTSVILLE – Services for Patsy Bagley, 67, of Huntsville, were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012 in the Brooke Funeral Home Chapel in Huntsville with Pastor Kerry Baxley officiating. Burial followed at Brooke Cemetery. Mrs. Bagley died Friday, Dec. 30, 2011 in Conroe. She was known as a devoted housewife and mother who loved her family very much. Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Donald Bagley of Huntsville; five sons and their spouses, Leon and Carolun McGee of Cleveland, Roger McGee of Terrell, Jerry and Adale of Shepherd, Donald and Shay Bagley Jr. of Kingwood and Jeffrey Bagley of Spring; four daughters, Donna Caye Hines of Bossier City, La, Sheila Waters of Cleveland, Becky Bagley of Sealey and Angie Bagley of Atascocita; a brother, James Quinn of Houston; two sisters, Lillie Chapman of Spring Branch, and Katie Smith of Leggett; 25 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. Robert Kelvin Black
HUNTSVILLE – Services for Robert Kelvin Black, 43, of Trinity will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 6 at the Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Huntsville. Mr. Black died unexpectedly on Friday, Dec. 30, 2011, near Dallas, due to heart failure. He was born July 1, 1968, in Fort Dix, N.J., the son of James Alan Black, Sr. and Marie Gabrielle Black and attended Atwater High School in Atwater, Calif. Mr. Black started installing carpet while in high school and became an exceptional carpet installer and rose to the top of his field. In 2005, after suffering injuries from installing carpet, he became a flooring and carpet inspector. Again he rose to the top of his industry. He was know to be a very driven man who always strived for the best in whatever he did. He also was a devoted husband and father who always put his family first and who loved to spend time with his family and friends. His interests included building wood furniture (and wood carvings) and creating beautiful area rugs. Mr. Black also loved playing the drums with his son, Robbie. Basketball, mountain climbing and riding bulls were his favorite pastimes. Survivors include his loving wife, Lindy Ann Black; four daughters, Danielle Cristina Street of Texas, Brienne Hope Muehsam of Missouri, Rebecca Danielle Martin of California and Jesika Marie Black of Texas; four sons, Christopher Sean Martin of Texas, Brandon Thomas Martin of Texas, Dakota Alfred Black of California and Robert James Black of Texas; his mother, Jandrea-Marie Gabrielle of California; his father, James Alan Black, Sr. of Texas; step-mother, Cheri-Ann Black of Texas; a brother , James Alan Black, Jr. of Tennessee; a sister, Josephine Joanne Black of California; a close friend, Larry Dean Bechtold of Texas; and a number of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Helen Pierce Cornish
TRINITY -- Helen Pierce Cornish, 75, of Trinity died Sunday, Dec. 25, 2011. At her request, there will be no memorial services and she will be cremated. Mrs. Cornish was born Nov. 9, 1936, the daughter of Ruby and Ura E. Pierce of Booneville, Miss. Survivors include a son, Tommy Worthy of South Houston; a brother and his spouse, Charles and Mary Pierce of Texas City; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Linda Odom of Trinity and Ruthie and John McWilliams of Bayou Vista; a granddaughter, Rebecca Worthy of Porter; a grandson, Timmy Worthy of Riverside; two great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the VFW Cancer Aid and Research in Trinity.

Payton J. Lawrence
HUNTSVILLE – Memorial services for Payton J. Lawrence, 32, of Huntsville were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011 at the First Presbyterian Church in Huntsville. Mr. Lawrence died suddenly Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2011 in Cooke County, Texas. He graduated from Huntsville High School in 1998 and received an Associates Degree from Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service in 2007. He is preceded in death by father, Larry Lawrence; and his maternal grandfather, Irvin Offutt. Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Brenda and Milton Brock of Trinity; two sisters and their spouses, Yolanda and Jon Fultz of Navasota and Kyla and Travis Soechting of New Braunfels; two half sisters, Allie Smith and Riley Smith, both of Jacksboro; his maternal grandmother, Earleen Offutt of Trinity; and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.
