Sarah Joanne Pratt Brooks
TRINITY – Services for Sarah Joanne Pratt Brooks, 85, were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 4, 2008, in the Waller-Thornton Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Loftin officiating.
Burial followed in Flat Rock, Mich.
Mrs. Brooks died Sunday, June 1, in Trinity.
She was born July 21, 1922, in Detroit, Mich., and was a homemaker and mother.
Mrs. Brooks was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Blanche Pratt; a daughter-in-law, Melody Murphy; a brother, Edgar Eugene Pratt; a sister, Sylvia Marie Hassleman; a grandson, Walter Eugene Murphy; and a great-grandson
Survivors include a daughter and her spouse, Patsy and Gene Lance; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Daniel and Carolyn Murphy and Kenneth Murphy; seven grandchildren, Joanne Marie Horsfall, Jeffery Horsfall, Kathryn Brunelle, Daniel Murphy Jr., Melissa Strand, Ann Marie Murphy and K.C. Murphy; 10 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Waller-Thornton Funeral Home of Trinity directed the arrangements.

Charlene Dee Barnes Fellers
HUNTSVILLE – Services for Charlene Dee Barnes Fellers, 58, of Trinity were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 5, 2008, in the Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Huntsville.
Mrs. Fellers died peacefully in her Trinity residence on Monday, June 2, following a long battle with cancer.
She was born Oct. 8, 1949, in Houston and was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Florine Barnes of Oakhurst; and a niece and nephew, Russell and Stacey Fellers of Mansfield.
Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Vance Fellers; her children, Mandy Fellers of Trinity, Kevin and Stacy; a granddaughter, Kailey of Spring; her in-laws, Jerry and Alice Fellers of Moffat; a brother-in-law, Steve Fellers of Canton; two nieces, Kerry Fellers of Houston and Trena Erdelt of Katy; her ex-sister-in-law, Judy Bruton of Salado; her best friends, Wes and Martha McCoy of Pearland; and a number of other relatives and friends.
Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home of Huntsville directed the arrangements.

Thelma Helen Slaughter
TRINITY – Services for Thelma Helen Curtindale Slaughter, 89, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 7, 2008, in the Waller-Thornton Funeral Home in Trinity with the Rev. Jim Parrish officiating.
Burial followed in the Arlington National Cemetery.
Mrs. Slaughter died Wednesday, June 4, at the East Texas Medical Center – Trinity.
She was born Dec. 20, 1918, in Rogers City, Mich., where she resided until she moved to Washington in 1945. There she met Talmadge C. “Tom” Slaughter and the couple was united in marriage on Dec. 16, 1946.
With her husband serving in the U.S. Air Force, Mrs. Slaughter served as a volunteer in a number of military-based services. She organized and for two years chaperoned the Teenage Club at Castle Air Force Base where she also served as coordinator of family services. She served as president of the Base Garden Club at Loring Air Force Base in Maine; block warden for base evacuation at Loring; Gray Lady for the Red Cross; and as a volunteer nurse’s aide at the military hospital in Lake Charles, La. While at the Lake Charles Air Force Base, she also served as director of family services.
Survivors include her husband, Talmadge C. Slaughter; a daughter and her spouse, Sally Marie and Tim Belew of Denton; a granddaughter, Terry Lynn Morgan Wouters of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; a grandson, Tommy Leigh Morgan of Coral Springs, Fla.; a great-grandson, Douglas Leigh Martin of Las Vegas, Nev.; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Waller-Thornton Funeral Home of Trinity directed the arrangements.
