Brian Wayne Allen
TRINITY – Services for Brian Wayne Allen, 31, were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2008, in the River of Life Church in Trinity with the Rev. Mike Loftin officiating.
Mr. Allen died Thursday, May 22, in Houston.
He was born Aug. 29, 1976, in Bakersfield, Calif., and was preceded in death by his grandfather, Martin Brooks; an uncle, Jesse Brooks; and two cousins, Travis Brooks and Curtis Smith.
Survivors include two children, Sam William Allen and Brooke Kay Allen; the mother of his children, Samantha Ellis; his parents, Pete and Marta Smith; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Michael and Tonya Burk and Michael Smith; a sister, Erin Cox; his maternal grandmother, Mary O’Neal; his paternal grandmother, Janie Thornton; his god parents, Doris and Rick DiMaggio; two special friends, Andrea and Kaleb; a friend, Melissa Smith; and a number of other relatives.
Waller-Thornton Funeral Home of Trinity directed the arrangements.

Pauline Dowdy Angell
TRINITY – Graveside services for Pauline Dowdy Angell, 73, of the Possum Walk community in Trinity County were held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 28, 2008, in the East Prairie Possum Walk Cemetery with Caroll Norsworthy officiating.
Mrs. Angell died Sunday, May 15, in Possum Walk.
She was born Feb. 17, 1935, in Possum Walk and was a care given in the home health industry.
Survivors include a daughter and her spouse, Deborah and Tommy Vick; four sons and a daughter-in-law, Stacey and Kerry Dowdy, Ray Dowdy, M.C. Dowdy and Dennis Dowdy; two sisters, L.C. Cowger and Billie Clark; 18 grandchildren and their spouses, Rhonda and Butch Pitts, Judah Wood, Richard and Kelly Shipley, Tommy and Tiffany Vick Jr., Kelly and James Hale, Joshua Bryan, Jason Dowdy, Jessica McComas, Adam and Kandace Lee, Clinton and Rachel Lee, Amanda Lee, Brandy and Doug Crackenburger, Kenneth and Kristi Dowdy, Katrina and James Gurrola, P.J. and Shawn Coleman, Jeremy and Jessica Dowdy, Paul and Shanna Dowdy and Kendra Dowdy; 36 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

David Newton McCollam Jr.
WACO – Graveside services with military honors for David Newton McCollam Jr., 76, were held Tuesday, June 3, 2008, at the Oakwood Cemetery in Waco.
Mr. McCollam died Thursday, May 29.
He was born July 31, 1931 and was preceded in death by a son, David Newton McCollam III; and two sisters, Margie Guercio and June Stenger.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Leandra Hopper McCollam of Trinity; two sons, Darrell C. McCollam and his wife, Lee, and Daniel C. McCollam and his fiancée, Sharron K. Smith, all of Trinity; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Annabell and Jim Issac and Charlette Klucar, all of Ohio; a brother-in-law, Larry Stenger of Ohio; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Brooke Funeral Services of Waco directed the arrangements.

Loring Van Campbell Rollo
HUNTSVILLE – Services for Loring Van Campbell Rollo, 68, were held at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 31, 2008, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Huntsville.
A private graveside service followed at the Chita Cemetery in Trinity County.
Mrs. Rollo died Wednesday, May 28, following a four-year battle with cancer.
She was born Dec. 25, 1939, in New Orleans, La., and in 1960 received a bachelor of arts degree in social science from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, La.
She became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1971 and devoted her life to her children and the Gospel.
Mrs. Rollo was preceded in death by her parents, Sidney Culver and Elizabeth Ann Cook Campbell,
Survivors include five children and a son-in-law, Karen and Hubert Primeaux of Trinity, Wayne Rollo of Lovelady, Ann Rollo of Trinity, Sam Rollo of Lovelady and Max Rollo of Lafayette, La.; and a grandson, Hubert Primeaux Jr. of Trinity.
Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home of Huntsville directed the arrangements.

Joan Carolyn Tullos
GROVETON – Services for Joan Carolyn Tullos, 64, of Apple Springs were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2008, in the Wakefield Baptist Church with Bro. Robert Lankford officiating.
Burial followed in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Tyler County.
Mrs. Tullos died Saturday, May 31, in Lufkin.
She was born May 21, 1944, and was a member of the Wakefield Baptist Church. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, S.E. Tullos of Apple Springs; two sons and their spouses, Donald Keith and Jennifer Tullos of Tyler and Randy and Pam Tullos of Lufkin; two daughters, Sherri and Mike Bruno of Huntsville and Angela and J.J. Lockwood of Fort Worth; step-children, Sheila Ward of Trinity, Sammy and Yolanda Tullos of Mineola and Donnis Wayne Tullos of Apple Springs; a sister, Edna Howell of Lufkin; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers included members of her church.
Groveton Funeral Home directed the arrangements.

Syble Black Vance
TRINITY – Services for Syble Black Vance, 81, were held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 30, 2008, at the Trinity Church of God with the Rev. Jack Black officiating.
Burial followed in Brookside Cemetery in Houston.
Mrs. Vance died Tuesday, May 27, in Conroe.
She was born Aug. 13, 1926, in Laneville.
Survivors include three children and their spouses, Nancy Vance, Randall and Rebecca Gilbert and Sherry and Gene Stark; and sister and her spouse, Jackie and Gene Ring; five grandchildren, Kristy, Karina, Cody and his wife Jenn, Brandy and her husband David, and Pepper Dyer and her husband Enis; and eight great-grandchildren, Schyler, Leigha Grace, Stephen, Madison, Shai, Owen, Izzak and Jamie.
Waller-Thornton Funeral Home of Trinity directed the arrangements.

Dorothy Mae Williams
WEST COLUMBIA – Graveside services for Dorothy Mae Williams, 82, of Sweeny were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2008, in the Sweeny Cemetery.
Mrs. Williams died Monday, June 2, at Methodist Hospital in Houston.
She was born July 22, 1925, in Oklahoma, the daughter of Thomas Andrew Lewis and Ruby Edwards Lewis. Mrs. Williams was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sweeny.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Paul Williams; a brothers, Buddy Lewis; and a sister, Connie Sue Flippo.
Survivors include three sons and their spouses, Tommy Joe and Darla Williams, Paul Dicky and Debbie Williams and James Ray and Tellie Williams, all of Sweeny; a daughter and her spouse, Linda Ruth and Mark Atkinson of Sweeny; a brother, Larry Wayne Lewis of Arizona; four sisters and their spouses, Ruthie Tullos of Trinity, Rennie and Lee Cade of Conroe, Colleen and Ron Clem of Brazoria and Geraldine and Corky Callahan; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
