Nola Faye Sides Matheny
TRINITY – Services for Nola Faye Sides Matheny, 64, of Houston and formerly of Trinity were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2008, at the Trinity Funeral Home with Dr. Randall Lowe officiating.
Burial followed at Clapp Cemetery near Trinity.
Mrs. Matheny died Sunday, March 16, in Houston.
She was born Feb. 22, 1944 in Angleton, the youngest of six children born to James Edgar and Mary Shiflett Sides.
Divorced at a young age, her life centered around her three children. After her last child left home, she moved to Trinity to be a companion to her mother. While in Trinity, she worked in advertising sales for The Trinity Standard.
Returning to Houston in 1998, she was a child care provider working for various day care centers.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Lorene Sides; and a brother, James Neal Sides.
Survivors include a son and his spouse, Darren and Karen Matheny; two daughters, Dora Dixon and Deanna Matheny; a brother and his spouse, Curtis and Lucille Sides; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Georgia and Leon Bailey and Bette Sides Sweeny; four grandchildren, Cory Matheny, Cheryl Matheny, Spencer Dixon and Kyle Dixon; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers included Corey Matheny, John Burchett, Spencer Dixon, Kyle Dixon, James Hagemeier and Jeff Wade.
Trinity Funeral Home directed the arrangements.

Doyle Wayne Reeves
TRINITY – A memorial service for Doyle Wayne Reeves, 67, was held Monday, March 17, 2008, in the Cedar Grove Cemetery in Trinity.
Mr. Reeves died Wednesday, March 5, in Kingwood.
He was born Oct. 6, 1939, in Trinity, the son of Robert and Lela (Blair) Reeves Sr. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Dwight Reeves, Allen Reeves and Billy Reeves.
Survivors include his wife, Cora Reeves; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Richard and Dana Reeves of Trinity and Kevin Reeves, who is currently working in Afghanistan; two step-sons, Staff Sgt. James Provazek Jr., currently serving in Iraq, and  Frank Provazek; four brothers and their spouses, Robert and Audrey Reeves, Calvin and Catherine Reeves, Everett and Delores Reeves and the Rev. Gerald and Doris Reeves; one granddaughter, Cassandra Reeves; and a number of other family members and friends.
