Trinity Standard - March 22, 2009 - March 29, 2009

Billie Jo Bowman
TRINITY – Services for Billie Jo Bowman, 81, of Pennington were held at 3 p.m. Monday, March 23, 2009, at the Crockett First Baptist Church with the Rev. Kenny Dickerson.
Burial followed in the Cedar Grove Cemetery in Trinity.
Mrs. Bowman died Thursday, March 19, in Palestine.
She was born July 25, 1927, in Groveton and was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Crockett and the Retired Seniors Volunteer Program.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, James Bowman of Pennington and Jeff and Kathy Bowman of Tampa; grandsons, Jeremy and Morrell Bowman of Grapeland, James Bowman Jr, Trey and Angel Bowman and Adam Bowman; great-grandsons, Clay and Cheyenne Bowman of Grapeland and Talen of Amarillo; and a number of other relatives and friends.
Groveton Funeral Home directed the arrangements.

Johnny Clamon Jr.
TRINITY – Services for Johnny Clamon Jr., 70, of Trinity were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 21, 2009, at the Waller-Thornton Funeral Home in Trinity with the Rev. Jim Golden officiating.
Burial followed in the Feagin Cemetery in Leggett.
Mr. Clamon died Wednesday, March 18, in Huntsville.
He was born June 11, 1938, in Polk County and had resided in Trinity for over 32 years. He was employed by the Atchley Lumber Company as a lift driver for more than 30 years.
Mr. Clamon was preceded in death by his only son, Tommy Clamon; his parents, Johnny and Bonnie Mae Clamon Sr.; and a sister, Madie Lou Clamon.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Minnie Clamon; a brother, Jerry Clamon; a sister and her spouse, Thelma and Ray Rancher; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Waller-Thornton Funeral Home of Trinity directed the arrangements.

Mary Paulette “Polly” Larsen
GROVETON – Services for Mary Paulette “Polly” Larsen, 66, of Apple Springs were held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 23, 2009, in the Groveton Funeral Home with Bro. Lewis Jones officiating.
Mrs. Larsen died Wednesday, March 18, in Trinity County.
She was born July 19, 1942, in Lufkin and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. Larsen was preceded in death by her mother, Willie Pauline Holt; her father, Oscar Day; her step-father, James “Jimmy” Holt; and two brothers, Oscar Day and Bobby Day.
Survivors include her husband, Norman Larsen of Apple Springs; two sons and their spouses, Tony and Theresa Larsen of Grapeland and Frank and Vicki Thielen of Houston; a daughter, Ciendy Renfroe of Willis; two sisters, Margaret Day and Deloris Day; grandsons, Steven and Megan Larson, Jason Larson and his fiancé Marla McClain, Tyler Lawson and Travis Lawson; and two great-grandsons, Nolan Larsen and Kolt Larsen.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the Groveton Nursing Home.
Groveton Funeral Home directed the arrangements.

Porter Morris Reed
TRINITY – Graveside services for Porter Morris Reed, 87, of Trinity were held at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 16, 2009, in the Latexo Cemetery with the Rev. Leroy Brown officiating.
Mr. Reed died Friday, March 13, in Trinity.
He was born Oct. 2, 1921, in Augusta, the son of Mack and Mollie Reed. He served with the U.S. Army for three years in Europe during World War II, earning three Bronze Stars for good conduct and a victory ribbon.
Mr. Reed was a self-employed bulldozer operator and enjoyed planting a garden every years and working in his yard.
He was a member of the American Legion post in Crockett.
Preceding him in death were his siblings, Delma, Fannie Lou, Wilda, Gladys and Jim.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Robbie Odessa Reed; a daughter, Wanda Johnston; four sons and their spouses, Richard Reed, Tommy and Beverly Reed, Mack and Kellie Reed and Albert Reed; a sister, Hazel Newman; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Waller-Thornton Funeral Home of Trinity directed the arrangements.
