CLEVELAND – Services for Ida Pearl Huffman, 91, of Porter were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2007, in the Triumph Christian Center in Porter.
Burial followed in the New Zion Cemetery near Trinity.
Mrs. Huffman died Saturday, Nov. 10.
Born Oct. 2, 1916, in Latexo, she was the daughter of Robert and Minnie Stapp.
She was preceded in death by both parents and her husband, Dell E. Huffman.
Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Patsy Lois Wilkinson and Betty and Frank Baker; a sister, Jewel Manning; a brother, Jesse Stapp; 10 grandchildren and their spouses, Patty and Johnny Thibodeaux, Sharlett and Mike Buckner, Rhonda and Joe Acrey, Terri and Terry Weeks, Sandy and Scott McKinney, Rhonda and Chuck Lange, Greg Williams, James and Zule Hill, Frank and Kim Baker Jr. and Brandy and Sergio Battlistella; 19 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and other family members.
Pace-Stancil Funeral Home of Cleveland directed the arrangements.
Joseph Calvin ‘Dewitt’ Meshell
GROVETON – Services for Joseph Calvin “Dewitt” Meshell, 70, of Groveton were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2007, in the Groveton Funeral Home with Bro. Lester McAdams officiating.
Burial followed in the Boonetown Cemetery.
Mr. Meshell died Friday, Nov. 9, in Lufkin.
He was born Dec. 13, 1936, in Noble, La., and was employed as a rancher. He was a member of the Catholic faith.
Mr. Meshell was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Meshell; and a brother, Sammie Meshell.
Survivors include six children and their spouses, Erin and Mary Meshell of Bidwell, Ohio, Renee Irby of Groveton, Bruce and Valerie Meshell of Spring, Monica Martinez of Noble, La., Randy and Aleta Meshell of Woodlake and Stephanie Meshell of Houston; three brothers and their spouses, J.C. and Margie Meshell of Manning, La., Clayton and Barbara Meshell of Splendora and Wayne and Linda Meshell of Trinity; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Belva Jean and Lee Roy LeBlanc of Wakefield and Mary Jane Anderson of Houston; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and friends.
Groveton Funeral Home directed the arrangements.
