Brady calls health care bill a mistake
San Jacinto News- Times
SHEPHERD – On a campaign tour through District 8 to talk about the new health care bill, U.S. Congressman Kevin Brady (R-The Woodlands) spoke to residents Tuesday, March 30 at Happy Days Diner in Shepherd. Calling the health care bill a “terrible mistake,” Brady said, “Bigger government doesn’t mean better health care.” According to Brady, passage of the bill will likely increase health insurance premiums. The Internal Revenue Service will see its largest expansion since withholding taxes were enacted during WWII to enforce the glut of new tax mandates and penalties included in the Democrats’ latest health care plan, according to Brady. “A new analysis by the Joint Economic Committee and the House Ways & Means Committee minority staff estimates up to 16,500 new IRS personnel will be needed to collect, examine and audit new tax information mandated on families and small businesses in the ‘reconciliation’ bill,” Brady said.
