Gardening symposium scheduled

COLDSPRING – Due to the success of the gardening and horticulture program presented in the spring, the San Jacinto County AgriLife Extension Service will host a Fall Gardening and Horticulture Symposium. The event will be held Monday, Aug. 3, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the San Jacinto County Senior Citizen’s Center, Coldspring. Micah Meyer, horticulture agent from Jefferson County, will be the primary speaker of the event. Meyer was the speaker for the spring event. Topics to be covered will include fall gardening techniques and vegetable varieties, fall landscape beautifi cation and fruit and nut tree care and maintenance. For those with a private applicator license, there will be 2 CEU’s available at the event. Please RSVP to 936-628- 6407 by July 31 to save your seat. There will be a $10 fee for the event.
