Blood drive scheduled Jan. 5 at Shepherd

SHEPHERD -- Shepherd Independent School District (SISD) will host a blood drive Monday, Jan. 5, 2009 from 9 a.m. -3 p.m. The blood drive will be held at the SISD Administration Building located at 1401 S. Byrd Avenue in Shepherd and is open to the public. In a partnership with the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center, SISD became a Commit For Life Organization in 2008. As part of our commitment, SISD has agreed to hold a blood drive once per quarter. The school district would like to invite you to become a Commit For Life member and help us save lives. It has to come from one person to be given to another. A regular number of voluntary donations are required every day to meet the need for blood in the Texas Gulf Coast and East Texas Regions. Donating just one unit of blood can save up to three lives.
