City elections announced

SHEPHERD – Applications for upcoming city elections are being accepted in the county’s three incorporated jurisdictions. City residents have until March 9 to fi le an application for a position on a council. In the City of Shepherd three positions currently held by aldermen Kenny Whittleman, Frankie Wade and Olene Reaves are open for election The City of Coldspring has three council seats currently held by Frank McMurrey, Charles Altman and Jay Phillips open for election. In the City of Point Blank Mayor Lillian Bratton’s position is up for election as well as two council positions currently held by Carl Polk and Tyrone Parks. City elections will be held Saturday, May 9. Early voting begins April 27 and ends May 5. Applications for positions may be obtained at Coldspring, Point Blank or Shepherd city halls Monday through Friday during regular business hours.
