Aggravated robbery suspects arrested

COLDSPRING – Two Cleveland residents have been charged for the Saturday, Jan. 22 aggravated robbery of Lovett’s Grocery on FM 2025 in San Jacinto County. J a r e d Cruse, 18, and Richard Shedd- Wright Jr., 17, have both been charged in the armed robbery which occurred about 9 p.m., according to the San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Department. Deputies said the men were armed with a gun and a tire tool. “One suspect allegedly put the gun to the store clerk’s head and demanded money. The store clerk gave them the money from the cash register which was about $50 in cash,” San Jacinto County Sheriff James Walters said. “The suspects fl ed from the store headed toward Cleveland,” Walters said. “Deputies and detectives arrived and began their investigation within minutes of the robbery, which later led to the arrest of the two suspects,” he added. Cruse has also been charged with the shooting of a Shepherd resident on Jan. 21. “At about 7 a.m. deputies responded to a 911 call from a female reporting that she had just been shot. Upon arrival at a residence located at Spring Avenue and 4th Street d e p u t i e s found a b r o k e n w i n d o w and a victim shot through the arm. The victim was transported to Cleveland ER and later transported to Herman Memorial Hospital in good condition,” Walters said. “The victim stated that she was home alone when she heard a window break and went toward the sound. As she turned on the light she heard the gunshot through the window, which hit her in the arm. The suspect ran away without making entry into the home,” Walters said.
