HPD seeks help in stabbing death of Shepherd man

HUNTSVILLE – A stabbing incident in the parking lot of a Huntsville nightclub claimed the life of a Shepherd man on Dec. 30, and police are seeking any information that may help identify his assailants. John Wayne McCrary, 22, died at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston hours after receiving multiple stab wounds in the parking lot of Shenanigan’s, located at 1548 11th Street in Huntsville. According to Lt. Wes Altom of the Huntsville Police Department, the attack occurred before 1 a.m. on the morning of Dec. 30. Shenanigan’s security staff members reported seeing two individuals fl eeing the scene shortly after the attack but were unable to give any detailed description. McCrary was transported by emergency medical crews to Huntsville Memorial Hospital and transferred to Hermann where he reportedly died during surgery about 8 a.m. The Huntsville Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division is asking anyone with any information to come forward.
