San Jacinto News- Times - June 2008
COLDSPRING -- As the school year comes to a close, plans are underway to assure that free breakfast and lunch doesn’t end when the school doors close. Coldspring-Oakhurst Consolidated Independent School District will be sponsoring the Summer Food Service Program for Children in conjunction with the summer school program. Free meals will be provided to all children 18 years or younger, whether enrolled or not in summer school. These meals will provide the same nutritious items that our children receive throughout the school year funded by the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program.
Meals will be served at Lincoln Junior High School located at 13605 State Hwy. 156. Breakfast will be served between 7:15 a.m. and 8 a.m. and lunch will be served between 11:15 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Meals will be served Monday through Thursday, June 9 through July 2. Children do not have to sign up for meals, they simply come to the site, under current regulations. Our program assures that children receive a nutritionally balanced meal. For more information, please call Dinah Redden at 936-653-1108 or Judy Jesttes at 936-653-1107.
