Grand jury indictments range from murder to drug possession

COLDSPRING – The San Jacinto County Grand Jury handed down indictments last week on cases ranging from murder to possession of controlled substance. Canadian resident Predrag Perisic was indicted on charges of capital murder and attempted capital murder and on alternate charges of murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for the Dec. 13 murder of his son Deyan Perisic and for wounding his daughter, Danyela (see story, this page). Also indicted for murder is Paul William Sumner, 18. Sumner was indicted for the fi rst degree felony following the shooting death of Tammy Trahan, 37. The incident occurred Oct. 11, 2010 at about 10 a.m. at a residence on Mourning Dove Trail in the Spring Ridge Road area of Coldspring, according to the San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Department. When deputies arrived on the scene, Coldspring resident Paul Sumner immediately surrendered. Trahan was allegedly shot in the stomach area by Sumner, according to deputies. An unidentifi ed family member took Trahan to an emergency room in Livingston where she died from her injuries. Sumner was taken into custody and transported to the San Jacinto County Jail where his bond was set at $100,000. Marron Douglas Ritchey, Jr., 41, was indicted on two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, both second degree felonies. Ritchey was arrested Dec. 10 about 11 p.m. on two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after repeatedly stabbing Shirley Kain and her son, Shawn Kain, according to the San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Department. Deputies, Department of Public Safety Troopers and medical personnel responded to the disturbance at the residence on Governor Wood Drive in Point Blank where they found the victims. Ritchey had fled into the woods but was located a short time later and taken into custody. His bond was set at $100,000. Kyle Wesley King, 25, of Fostoria Tram Road was indicted for aggravated sexual assault of a child. King was arrested and charged in Dec. 2010 for the assault which occurred Nov. 18, 2010. According to the indictment, King, using his finger, penetrated the anus of a child. The child, according to authorities was five years of age at the time. Suzanne Elizabeth White, 40, was indicted for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. According to the indictment, White stabbed James Scarborough on Nov. 17, 2010 during an assault. Justin Lee Tullos, 21, was indicted for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. According to the indictment, the incident occurred on Nov. 3, 2010. Tullos is charges with causing bodily injury to Rhonda Tullos by striking her in the head with a post hole digger handle. The indictment further states that Tullos was previously convicted of the felony offense of possession of a controlled substance on July 16, 2007. Jared Len Cruse, 18, was indicted on two counts of aggravated robbery. According to one indictment, Cruse threatened Mahab Patoli during the course of committing theft of property, using a handgun on Jan. 22, 2011. The second indictment states that Cruse threatened Billy Knight with a handgun while in the course of committing theft of property. Larry James Gambrell, 57, was indicted for theft. According to the indictment, Gambrell took sheet metal roofing with a value of $1,500 or more but less than $20,000 from Roy Floyd without consent on Jan. 19, 2011. Carl David Hamby, 34, was indicted for burglary of a habitation and for engaging in organized criminal activity – theft. According to the indictments, Hamby took a flat screen television owned by Michael Smith from his home without consent. The second indictment states that Hamby took jewelry of the value of $1,500 or more but less than $20,000 from Jane Richstone- Littman without consent of the owner. Kyle James White, 20, was indicted on two counts of engaging in organized criminal activity – burglary of a habitation Codero Carte Thompson, 21, was indicted on two counts of possession of controlled substance, both third degree felonies. Kelzin Javar Baines, 18, was indicted on two county of engaging in organized criminal activity – burglary of a habitation. Both are first degree felonies. Robert Paul Cantrell Jr., 20, was indicted on two counts of engaging in organized criminal activity – burglary of a habitation. Both are first degree felonies. Bridgette Kay Willis, 35, was indicted for engaging in organized criminal activity – theft, a third degree felony. Melanie Jean Nielsen, 56, was indicted for engaging in organized criminal activity – theft, a third degree felony. Michael Glenn McCoy, 34, was indicted for hindering secured creditors, a state jail felony. Walter Benjiman Muns- Faulk, 24, was indicted for hindering secured creditors, a state jail felony. Junius Kynan Williams, 27, was indicted for possession of controlled substance, a third degree felony. Magie Mae Renteria, 26, was indicted for possession of controlled substance in a drug free zone, a third degree felony.
