Recycling is on county’s agenda
San Jacinto News- Times
COLDSPRING – San Jacinto County Commissioners’ Court approved the acceptance of six free-ofcharge recycling bins from Huntsville based Try2 Recycle last week. The recycling bins will be placed at each of the county’s four compactor sites in an attempt to get the county into a recycling mode. According to San Jacinto County Pct. 3 Commissioner James “Butch” Moody recycling will save the county money by paying less in landfi ll prices. Moody said the county will collect a penny a pound for paper and $50 a ton for cardboard. “We’re going to gain back money by not putting it in the landfi lls,” Moody said. Moody said the county will also try to recycle plastics. Moody said people need to know that paper needs to be separated from cardboard in order for the county to receive the premium price of it. Of the six recycling bins, two each will be located in Precincts 1 and 3 and one each in Precincts 2 and 4. |
