Bond revoked on suspect accused of nightclub stabbing

HUNTSVILLE – Department of Public Safety Troopers arrested Cody Ray Walters, 21, of Shepherd last week after a warrant was issued for his arrest. Walters was accused of stabbing 22-year-old John Wayne McCrary in the parking lot of Shenanigan’s nightclub at about 1 a.m. on Dec. 30. Mc- Crary died hours later in a Houston hospital. Walters was arrested after his $100,000 bond was revoked Thursday. Huntsville Police Department Detective Eric Scott and Ranger Steve Jeter drove to the San Jacinto County Jail in Coldspring to pick Walters up for transport back to Walker County. He appeared before 278th Judicial District Juge Kenneth Keeling who reset his bond at $100,000. Walters’ bond was revoked by his bond company for an undisclosed reason, according to Scott.
