Suspect charged with Shepherd theft

COLDSPRING – A Houston resident has been arrested for the Nov. 7 theft in progress at Bullock Inc., a business located on FM 3460 in Shepherd. According to the San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Department, Jerry Fobbs was arrested and charged with state jail felony theft. According to a press release issued by the sheriff’s department deputies were dispatched to the scene about 9 p.m. and arrived at the location within fi ve minutes from the initial call to fi nd a vehicle unattended parked between the woods and fenced area of the business. The fence had been cut and several window air conditioners were on the ground next to the hole left in the fence. Deputies were able to identify the owner of the vehicle and s t a r t e d canvassing the area. D e p - uty Bell walked into Champions Truck Stop on Hwy. 59 in Shepherd and observed a male who fi t the description of the owner of the vehicle left at the crime scene. After a short interview, Deputy Bell placed Fobbs into custody. San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Sgt. Morton located a 14-yearold step-son of Fobbs’ in the television watching area of the truck stop. The juvenile was released to his mother and Fobbs was transported to the county jail without incident.
