COLDSPRING -- Community members and parents of students in Coldspring-Oakhurst Consolidated Independent School District are invited to submit nominations for the COCISD “Whatever It Takes to Educate” staff recognition program, says LaTonya Goffney, superintendent. “We’re asking parents and the community to submit nominations of teachers and staff members who they observe going above and beyond their normal duties to educate our children,” Goffney says. Campuses and departments will recognize nominees at their school or offi ce. Award recipients will be recognized also at COCISD’s monthly board meetings. Goffney says that the District’s vision statement is “Whatever It Takes We Educate.” “The vision statement refl ects an extraordinary commitment to our students,” she adds. “We want to encourage, support, and reward staff members as they practice our stated vision.” Nomination cards for the recognition program are available at each campus, the COCISD Administration Building, and online at www.cocisd.org.
