Fire chief arrested for solicitation of a minor

CORRIGAN -- A Punkin- Evergreen Volunteer Fire Chief was arrested Friday, Aug. 27 by Polk County Sheriff’s Deputies on accusations of online solicitation of a minor for the purpose of sexual conduct. Allen Marcotte was arrested in Corrigan around 3:30 a.m. at the Americare EMS Station where he volunteers. The arrest was the result of an investigation by Polk County Deputy Vance Berry and Detective Richard Delaney after a 16-year-old girl complained she was receiving obscene texts from Marcotte. The juvenile girl advised that Marcotte had obtained her cell phone number from her Facebook page and – along with the obscene texts – he attempted to get her to meet him somewhere for sex. Marcotte remained at the Polk County Jail pending bond being set by Polk County Pct. 1 Justice of the Peace Darrell Longino.
