Marijuana pulled from woods estimated at over $1.9 million

COLDSPRING – About 4,950 marijuana plants with a street value of over $1.9 million were recovered by the San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Department, county game wardens and the Department of Public Safety (DPS) Narcotics Division Sunday, Aug. 29. A fi eld of marijuana was discovered in a densely wooded area near FM 3081 and Bill Hale Road by deer hunters working on their stands. The deer hunters contacted the San Jacinto County Sheriff James Walters, resulting in nearly 5,000 plants being pulled from the scene. DPS Narcotics offi cers believe the street value of the marijuana plants is about $1,999,000.
