SHS students prepare for workplace

 

SHEPHERD -- The Career and Technology Education (CTE) Program is a great way for students to prepare for the highly technological and competitive workplace of the 21st century, according to CTE Teacher Tony Goodman of Shepherd Independent School District. "Shepherd CTE Program embraces quality instruction opportunities and experiences to prepare all students for the challenges of post-secondary education, a globally competitive workplace and active citizenship. Shepherd High School provides students with various avenues to develop an individual pathway for academic and career oriented instruction and success," Goodman said. SHS offers 6 pathways, each of which has several classes: Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources; Human Service/Educational Training; Architecture and Construction; Information and A/V Technology; Law, Public Safety, Corrections and Security; and Health Science. CTE teachers are Michelle Moss, Tony Goodman, David Taylor, Samantha Keith, Ginger Batey, Kevin Anderson, Lisa Courvelle, Shana Lewis, Robert Peden, India Peden, Holly Harrison, and Peter Gallmeier
