Annual trek across county planned

 

COLDSPRING -- Mark your calendar on February 23, 2013 for the second annual countywide garage sale. The Trash N’ Treasure Trek, is exactly what it says. Trash for some, treasures for others, and a trek across San Jacinto County. Sponsored by the San Jacinto County Tourism Council, site spaces are available at various locations along the trek. The trek begins in Shepherd on Hwy. 150, up 150 towards the courthouse square in Coldspring, making the turn and staying on Hwy 150, going out past FM 2025 west toward Evergreen, picking up at Hwy 156, north to Pointblank. Locations are being sought on Hwy. 190 as well. Locations are presently being marked for the event. If you have a field, parking lot, business, church, etc., obtain and cast your ballot as well. Last year’s banquet brought 180 or so attendees for the Best of San Jacinto County 2011 Awards presentation. This year’s banquet will be held on Saturday, February 23, at the Jones Auditorium on FM 1514 at the old Jones High School campus. The evening will be filled with fun, socializing, and seeing the many folks providing services of all kinds in San Jacinto County. There will be door prizes, silent auction items, and fun for all. There will be a catered dinner for the event. Reservations are needed to attend and tickets are $25 per person. Tables are available for groups and your employees. Table of 6 is $150 and table of 12 is $300. You may call the chamber office for reservations. There is also a reservation form available online at the chamber website. Reservation deadline is February 15, 2013. Remember to watch for the ballot in next week’s paper, around in the community at various businesses, and on the chamber website at www. coldspringtexas.org.
