COLDSPRING -- “The 2007 Coldspring Area Public Library Annual Garage Sale was an incredible success,” Manda Lively, library board president, reported to the Friends of the Library at their appreciation breakfast on Oct. 10. The Friends raised $11,316.50 at the sale.
Sylvia Roeseler, president of the Friends organization, Ellie Johnson and Diane Vinson organized the sale. A total of 62 volunteers worked the sale. Some of those volunteers worked inside the community center with clothing and household goods while a group of them, led by Mike Johnson and Melvin Machart, worked outside with furniture, toys, books, etc.
On Monday through Wednesday of sale week, volunteers accepted donations from the community, organized the merchandise and priced the items. The sale opened on Thursday morning and ran until noon on Saturday.
