In unofficial election results, Pat Killion will be sworn in as Shepherd’s new mayor, winning the seat with 139 votes. Her opponent, Bill Hamzy, received 85 votes.
In the race for two council members to fill vacancies made by resignations, Frankie Wade with 120 votes and Olene Reaves with 69 votes will fill the two at-large seats.
Other opponents for the two seats included Cynthia Foxworth with 40 votes; Derlin Barnhill with 62 votes; Raj C. Dalwadi with 37 votes; Kevin Lee Thoms with 52 votes and Peter Ryba with 30 votes.
