Search continues for missing 79-year-old
San Jacinto News Times - December 2007
SHEPHERD – A search for Shepherd resident Eldon “Punk” Hues Jr. continues this week following searches by foot and air.
Hues went missing Nov. 26 around 5:30 p.m. He was last seen leaving his sister’s house, who lives about four miles away from Hues, in his maroon colored T-100 Toyota truck. His truck has found last Thursday in a wooded area at the end of Lake Pool Road about 2,000 yards down a dirt road on private property in Shepherd; however there was no sign of Hues, a 79-year-old who suffers from Alzheimer’s.
The San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Office, Pct. 2 Constable Jerry Everitt, Texas Ranger Ron Duff, volunteers from EquuSearch and family members continue to search a 32-acre tract of land where Hues’ truck was found stuck in a pool of water. Bloodhounds from the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Department tracked a scent trail leading from Hues’ truck into the woods and back to the road leading out of the area where the scent trail ended.
His family is very concerned about him because he has not taken his medication or had his breathing treatments.
San Jacinto County Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for any information leading to Hue’s location. Call Crime Stoppers at 936-653-TIPS or the San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Department at 936-653-2285 if you have any information concerning the location of Hues.
