COLDSPRING – A suspect sought for the unauthorized use of a motor vehicle remains at large Monday following a car chase last Friday on Fostoria Tram Road in southern San Jacinto County.

According to San Jacinto County Criminal District Attorney Bill Burnett, the unidentified suspect fled from the vehicle he was driving about 4 p.m. and ran into nearby woods once the vehicle was stopped. Texas Department of Corrections assisted in the search with dogs to no avail.

Burnett said law enforcement officers think they know who they are looking for and expect the suspect to turn himself in to authorities soon.

In a separate incident last Friday, San Jacinto County Deputies was called to the scene of a shooting in the Pine Valley area. Burnett said no charges have been filed in the shooting incident.

“The case will be presented to the San Jacinto County Grand Jury where it will be decided if charges will be filed,” Burnett said.
