Countywide hot check sweep planned
San Jacinto Newstimes - February 2008
COLDSPRING – The San Jacinto County Criminal District Attorney’s office is offering amnesty for persons with outstanding hot check warrants in the county.
“For those with outstanding hot checks contact the district attorney’s office and make restitution on or before 5 p.m. March 14, 2008, and save some money,” San Jacinto County Criminal District Attorney Bill Burnett said.
“After March 14, there is going to be a comprehensive warrant sweep throughout the county. We’ve expanded our jail capacity to 144 so we have plenty of room to be able to hold all those arrested in the sweep,” he said.
“This will be the last opportunity for those wanting to take care of hot checks,” Burnett said.
There are currently over 600 outstanding hot check warrants in San Jacinto County.
