SHEPHERD – A blood drive is scheduled to be held Friday, April 4, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Shepherd Independent School District’s central offi ce on 1401 South Byrd. Blood donors should eat a hearty meal and drink plenty of fl uids, preferable water, prior to donation and continue to do so throughout the day. Remember to bring positive identifi cation. For eligibility questions, call Medical Services at 713-791-6612 or email at medops@giveblood.org. If you have any questions about donating blood, please contact The Blood Center at 713- 790-1200. Residents are encouraged to donate because there is no substitute for blood. It has to come from one person in order to be given to another. A regular number of voluntary donations is required every day to meet the need for blood in the Texas Gulf Coast region.
