Grand jury indicts 25

COLDSPRING – The San Jacinto County Grand Jury handed down 25 indictments during their February 1 meeting. Among those indicted was Justin Caine Sutton, 24, on charges of intoxication manslaughter and four charges of intoxication assault. The charges stemmed from an accident on Hwy. 59, Dec. 8, 2007 when, intoxicated, Sutton drove his vehicle into a vehicle driven by Eduardo Medellin Jr, causing Medellin’s death and causing serious bodily injury to Eric Medellin, Edgar Medellin, Emily Medellin and Angie Medellin, all passengers in Eduardo Medellin’s vehicle. Dan Franklin Kirchner Jr., 38. Kirchner was indicted on charges of evading arrest and for assault on a public servant. According to the grand jury indictments, Kirchner intentionally fl ed from Department of Public Safety Trooper Tamela Snider who was attempting to arrest Kirchner Nov. 10, 2007. The indictment states that Kirchner then recklessly caused bodily injury to Trooper Snider by backing into her patrol unit with his vehicle while the trooper was attempting to make a traffi c stop on Kirchner for an expired motor vehicle inspection certifi cate. Others indicted include Joel William Johnson, 33, for criminal mischief. Ronald Stanley, 50, was indicted on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Kirby Jubar Washington, 31, was indicted on a charge of burglary of a habitation and a charge of burglary of a building. Thomas Allen Taylor, 28, was indicted for failure to register as a sex offender. Timothy Scott Harvey, 33, was indicted for unauthorized use of a vehicle and for evading arrest. Rose Marie English, 49, was indicted for possession of a controlled substance. Bill Baker, 34, was indicted for unauthorized use of a vehicle. Timothy Ray Felts, 43, was indicted for possession of a controlled substance. Jacob Gary Kelly, 19, received three indictments. Kelly was indicted for burglary of a building, for burglary of a habitation and for burglary of a building. Gary Lee Dubson, 46, was indicted on two counts, one for possession of a controlled substance and one for failure to stop and render aid.

Laketha Lacole Landers, 18, was indicted for possession of marijuana. Deandre Doyle Thomas, 27, was indicted for posse4ssion of marijuana. Diane Richelle Burstall, 38, was indicted for burglary of a habitation. Justin Avery Owens, 22, was indicted for burglary of a habitation. Leron Oshun Burks, 30, was indicted for possession of a controlled substance. Michael Keith Hubbard, 46, was indicted on two charges, one for theft and one for unauthorized use of a vehicle.
