Seven vie for Miss San Jacinto County
San Jacinto Newstimes - March 2008

COLDSPRING – Seven contestants will compete for the title of Miss San Jacinto County and about $4,000 in college scholarship money during the 2008 Miss San Jacinto County Pageant.

The annual event will be held Saturday, March 29, at Coldspring- Oakhurst High School, beginning at 7 p.m. Contestants competing for the title are Alannah Andries, daughter of Joseph and Stacy Andries. Alannah is a junior at Coldspring-Oakhurst High School; Crystin Dawson, Shepherd High School senior; Shepherd High School junior Stacie Dickerson, daughter of Sheila Sheppeard and granddaughter of Tommy and Eve Sheppeard; Shepherd High School junior Stephanie Edwards, daughter of Joe Edwards and Melissa Withrow; Coldspring-Oakhurst High School junior Madison Estes, daughter of J. Scott and Kim Estes; Shepherd High School junior Amy Johnston, daughter of Edward and Beth Johnston; and Shepherd High School senior Meagan Whitmire, daughter of Rhonda and Sammy Whitmire.

During the event, 2007 Miss San Jacinto County Sarah Page will perform her last duties as the reigning queen by crowning the new queen. Miss San Jacinto County and the two runners-up will be awarded scholarships and other gifts donated by local businesses and individuals.
