Calling all artists! Its almost fair time

TRINITY – Area artists who would like to display their skills during the 61st Annual Trinity Community Fair area being asked to begin their preparations now. The annual fair will be held Sept. 24-25 at the Trinity Community Center and artists may enter their work free of charge. The fine arts display will include works in oil, watercolor, pen and ink, pastels, crayon and charcoal. Pencil sketches that are not traced also are acceptable. Heading up the fine arts booth for this year’s event are chairpersons Irene Sanders and Penny Willman. All entries must be framed or mounted with a back hanger. A 2x4-inch card with the name of the artist, the media used, whether it is an original or copy and whether it was drawn by an amateur or professional must be placed at the right hand corner of the work. While entry is free of charge, those entering must complete an entry form. If the artwork is to be picked up by someone other than the artist, the name of the party must be designated on the entry form. Entries will be accepted starting at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 23, and from 8-9 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 24, at the community center. Judging will begin at 10 a.m. Sept. 24 with winners being awarded ribbons. Entries may be picked up after 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, at the back entrance of the community center. All entries must be signed out. If necessary, the artworks’ subject matter will be reviewed by the fair association’s screening committee.
